What do you do when your girlfriend is a hardcore Potterhead? You make her a Nimbus 2000 from scratch, of course! Jared Weissman, a civil engineering major from Virginia, USA, did just that for his girlfriend of 5 years, Shelby Stein. It took him 3 weeks to make it.

Weissman used a 2×4 piece of pine for the handle. The bristles were made from a basket reed and have their shape reinforced with Styrofoam circles. The broom got its glossy looks with a mahogany wood stain finish and polyurethane coat. Finally, the guy even hand painted the exact Nimbus 2000 logo on the top.

“It was wrapped in brown paper and twine just like it was in the movie when Harry receives in the Great Hall from his owl Hedwig,” Shelby told Seventeen. “I could tell what it was from the shape of it, and I just remember being so excited and even cried! My room is slowly turning into a Harry Potter fan cave”
