World’s First Glass-Bottom “Sky Pool” Will Let You Swim 115 Feet Above London
Luxury is about to be redefined in London. An ambitious project plans to build a “sky pool” made entirely of glass and hanging 10 stories above the ground. The 25 by 5 meter by 3 meter deep pool will be made of 20 cm thick glass, and will act as a sort of bridge between two apartment buildings in London’s Nine Elms district. On site construction begins this year, and in 2018 buyers will be able to move in.
“My vision for the Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering,” said Ballymore Group CEO Sean Mulryan. “I wanted to do something that had never been done before. The Sky Pool’s transparent structure is the result of significant advancements in technologies over the last decade. The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London.”

It just reminded me of an experience I had. My boyfriend and I went for a trip to the seaside, we arrived before morning and found a cheap place to stay where the view from the window in the toilette pointed to the sea and the beach. I was enjoying the sunrise while defecating.

how is this a worlds first? glass bottomed high pools in Canada.. Texas...?
I went 4 times to Axel Hotel in Buenos Ayres. All floors had a central shaft through which poored the light of a full glass bottom swimming pool. So it can't be first in the world. Gloria Hotel in Rio reoprned in 2014 and has a glass bottom swimming pool ten times bigger than Axel's (which has s**t down after the recessuon). So bottom swimming pools are yesteday news. It is far from beinh first in the world.
Wait till the weather cracks the glass, wear a parachute when swimming.
might be interesting especially to the people below. I think I would like to see some steel beams across that span.
Looks phenomenal, even though I'd be scared stiff to open my eyes due to fear of heights:/
Mmmm, yeah, they're not gonna let YOU near it, so no worries. What a total 'f**k you' to the world, and a huge monument to the ego of the architect.
