Woman Finds Out And Posts Pictures Of How Cats Would React If You Suddenly Died At Home

Cats are pretty mysterious creatures. Most of the time, they seem confident, independent, and chill, and their unique personalities sometimes make people wonder whether these animals truly care about their owners. You see, with dogs, it’s pretty easy to tell—most of them are quite outgoing, energetic, and affectionate towards their humans. And sometimes even towards ALL humans in general.

According to a study that was conducted last year by Dr. Kristyn Vitale and a team, cats actually display the same main attachment styles as dogs and babies. “Cats that are insecure can be likely to run and hide or seem to act aloof. There’s long been a biased way of thinking that all cats behave this way. But the majority of cats use their owner as a source of security. Your cat is depending on you to feel secure when they are stressed out,” The author told Metro. But let’s be real, most cat owners already knew that.

And even though science backs up the belief that cats truly love us, is still pretty funny to joke about their “cold” and “distant” personality. For instance, here are some pics that this user shared on Twitter that sort of summarize what your cat would do if you suddenly died at home.

Here’s a kitty named Hazel chilling with her human-sized skeleton pillow

Turns out, the skeleton also has a name which is Patella

Yes, Hazel is completely calm

And not spooked at all

At this point, these two are sort of inseparable

Seeing these adorable pictures of a cat hanging out with her no-longer-alive friend made people realize that they as well need to buy this magnificent skeleton for their own cat.

Apparently, you can buy this skeleton plush at Target

Some people got inspired and started posting pics of their own cats hanging out with spooky skeletons

Gotta admit, this looks cozy as heck

For some reason, they’re totally fine with this whole situation

I mean, at least this one doesn’t move, right?

Apparently, the more skeletons there are, the better

So people think cats are stupid enough to believe a fake skeleton is a person? Or could it possibly be that cats just like to sit on laps?

Can confirm: cats just love laps. They don't care whose it is. Human, pupper, plastic skeleton.

Cats aren't that dumb, they can smell you, they also recognise your face. As any cat given a fake mouse knows......thats not real.

We tricked our cat with a toy mouse we had just bought, holding it like it was real then pretended it leapt from my hands. He was thrilled for 1.5 seconds, then sulked XD

I’m a first responder. Cats will eat you if you die in your house. Period.

This is a silly 'experiment". Cats aren't that dumb. Cats rely heavily on smell, to identify things. It's why they don't freak out at seeing themselves in the mirror - they can't smell another cat, so they conclude that the reflection is not a cat. Same with this silly "experiment". These cushions / plastic things, don't smell like their owners nor like a dead body, so they don't react like it's a dead body.

To be honest, I do worry more about how I will react someday when encountering or confronting my own cat’s demise than the other way around. I think my cat would be stronger by far.

You may be right. My reaction to loosing my fur babys i'm sure is FAR more devestating to me than would be to her. However, she doe's want to be with me every minute of the day so who really know how they truly feel after the loss of their loved one.

As a medic I’ve entered a residence with a deceased person who had cats and I’m sorry to say the cats will eat you when you’re gone. It’s literally the stuff of nightmares. And I love cats.

I don't get it. Do people really believe that cats know what's inside the human body (or their own for that matter)) to associate a human skeleton to their owners? - So what would a cat do if you suddenly died at home? I think it could tell the difference between a dead body and a (pillow) skeleton.

Look up that famous and amazing poem by Polish poet Wisława Szymborska, "Cat in an empty apartment" (kot w pustym mieszkanie). Describes it much better than these fake photos.

It doesn't make sense to me. Animals go by smell. How would a cat differentiate when there is no smell involved? It is just a wonderful cushion. Not ever a person.

Old goths don't die, they just morph into cats in love with skeletons.

If only cats had eyebrows more people would realize they are actually just as loving and sometimes more consistent than dogs.
