There is no "correct useage" it's a phrase. It's misused. The phrase is "I couldn't care less". Saying "I could care less" is like saying unrelevant, or supposebly. It's quite simply incorrect.

Let us say hypothetically, there is a care scale of 0 to 5, zero being do not care and 5 being I care so much I will give my life for it. I am showing two care, just because someone else wants to do certain activity. However, if given the chance and if I do not have to help other person, my care level would be zero.
