This Shiba Inu Always Looks Grumpy And People Are In Love

I think I just found your new spirit animal. Especially if you’re a dog person and couldn’t get totally behind the new grumpy cat because, well, it’s a cat. Meet Chester. This Shiba Inu is roughly around 65-human-years-old which gives him the right to be the grumpiest grump of all grumpsters.

“Chester is a drama queen,” his owner Kirby Kaufman told Bored Panda. “He’s very grumpy and clingy. He loves being petted. But only when he lets you pet him. Typical shiba attitude.”

“I adopted Chester from the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha,” Kirby said. “It was over the Fourth of July weekend in 2017. He was 10 years old at the time. He’ll turn 13 on September 1, 2019.”

After Chester began living with Kirby, a lot of his friends started asking the same question: “Why does he look so mad?” Some have also added that he looks like a fox while others even called Chester a demon dog.

Probably because it’s not just his outside that’s so edgy. “Chester is grumpy to the deepest of his core,” Kirby explained. “He’s what all grumpsters aspire to be. He embodies the rage we all have on the inside.”

And if for some ridiculous reason you still aren’t in love with this pupper, get a load of this – Chester loves pizza and chicken nuggets!

Aw, his cute slightly different little face is so adorable. I have a terrier who we call 'grumpy' but he's a rescue as well. I think what we call grumpy is just a dog being wary and protecting themselves. I've found that it can take years before a rescue dog really starts to feel safe to do things like expose their bellies for tickles - mine only started wagging his tail a year ago. Chester needs lots of love but lots of space to relax and become his true doggy self.

Shiba Inus are very independent and proud dogs. They are also one family/person dog and may take awhile to attach to you (trust issues). My mom's Shiba Inu Taka thought I and my youngest son belonged to him and would attack our dog. But they are worth it and will die for you.

Yes of course they can, down syndrome just means you have an extra chromosome, so animals can be born with similar kind of situations, though actual down syndrome is rare

SO happy you adopted an older dog from the shelter. Grumpy or not, he makes my heart sing!

I'm sure the owner wants to be a little scared of it at times, but it's just so cute and little, how could you be? Now if that look was on a full grown husky, for example, I don't know if I could have it in the house.... :P

I love dogs, but this one is ugly, there's nothing "cute" about a miserable looking dog.

I love him!!! People should stop asking why he is grumpy and just accept that he has his reasons and love him for who he is. I am so glad he was rescued.

If Chester is male then doesn’t that make him a drama KING?

He's just thinking about what he was made to wear a couple of holidays ago. Trust me. He and every cat, dog and any animal that is an accessory item to ditzy women worldwide, and that mutts like Tramp laugh at. And from the pissed off looks on every cat ever who has been dressed up like their canine pals, I can't wait to be a fly on the wall or one of the humans that laughed hysterically at pictures but never in from of my dog. And never ever even looked at pics in front of my cat. Not one I lived with. And the day will come when these animals get payback. And I shudder to think what costumes they come up with or whose purse they be sitting in to go see "my babies daddy" or get nails done on each of them.

Did the same people who upvoted the post decrying the cruelty of pug breeding upvote this post spreading love for a different type of deformed dog? This one isn't as deformed, but breeders always keep exhagerrating the traits (so that it doesn't look like it might be a mutt) until it will be just as bad as the pug or a german shepard. Ignore any dog that isn't a mutt or you are quite frankly a bad person.
