Trump Mocks Greta Thunberg For Being Time’s Person Of The Year, So She Changes Her Twitter Bio
81Kviews
Greta Thunberg is definitely a figure that most of the world has heard about. From her humble one-man efforts to raise awareness about climate change outside the Swedish parliament to her thunderous speech at the UN Summit, Greta has been the inspiring voice of her generation. Her efforts and powerful speeches have drawn plenty of admiration all around the world, eventually leading to a global climate strike right before the UN Climate Action Summit in New York. But as it drew applause from one side, it also received a lot of criticism from the other.
One of her most notorious critics is US President Donald Trump who went out of his way to mock Thunberg’s efforts on more than one occasion. And while the previous attack on the 16-year-old was more mellow, this time Trump truly took a jab at the activist by telling her to chill.
Greta Thunberg was recently named Time’s Person of the Year

Greta Thunberg first made headlines in late 2018 when she began to spend her school days outside the Swedish parliament to draw attention and call for stronger action on global warming. She’d hold a sign saying “School strike for the climate” in Swedish. Greta’s protest started a snowball effect that soon developed into a full-blown global movement. First, other students in different communities picked up Thunberg’s message, and then people all around the world joined in.
And Trump clearly took offence at the fact, expressing his feelings on Twitter

She received international attention (as well as criticism) for her involvement in the UN Climate Action Summit. First, Greta’s choice of transportation drew the media’s eye. The activist chose to sail across the Atlantic Ocean instead of flying to make her trip carbon-neutral. The voyage between Plymouth, England and New York, USA lasted 15 days, from 14 to 28 August 2019.
Greta pulled off the same thing she did before and put Trump’s comment in her bio

After arriving in New York, Greta attended the UN Climate Action Summit where she delivered a powerful speech, that many applauded for the 16-year-old’s fierceness and fearless words directed right at the world leaders. Naturally, her presentation drew criticism as well, with Trump first mocking the girl on Twitter.
Greta did it before when Trump made comments about her UN speech
Among many other achievements, Thunberg was also nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize which ultimately ended up being awarded to Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Despite not receiving one of the most prestigious titles in the world, Greta still had an enormous impact. To most people, it was no surprise when Time named her the Person of the Year, an award that was previously held by such figures as Barack Obama, Pope Francis and Donald Trump himself.
You can watch her powerful message in the video below

In response to the issue, Trump took to Twitter (as he does) to express his dissatisfaction with the situation. The US President called Greta being named Person of the Year ridiculous and went on to mock the girl’s demeanor, suggesting that she has an “anger management problem”. Greta indirectly responded to Trump’s criticism by striking back on the same social media platform. Thunberg quickly changed her profile bio, as she did once before, to reflect Trump’s words and many praised her for such a response.

That was most likely a response to critics claiming that she’s a puppet of the left wing

It undoubtedly is discussable whether Greta Thunberg should be person of the year. (As with any person of the year). However, the president of the US mocking a teenager is merely pathetic.
You can't fault a teenager for recognizing a douchebag when she sees one. Her anger is just a representation of the frustration of the American public that wantd Chief Orange and Self Centered removed from office.
anyone with "Alpha" in their name is a douchebag.
.........and what's on his mind is not pretty.

Scratch... dont be dramatic. People that voted for him love him because he has no impulse control. He says whats on his mind and doesnt sugar coat anything. There has been far too much "acting like a politician" in DC from both sides and I admit its pretty refreshing to have someone like him tell it like he sees it whether you agree with him on an issue or not you can always count on him to be transparent with whats going on.
HAHAHAHAHA oh my god. "you can always count on him to be transparent with whats going on." LOL that is literally the most delusional shit I've ever read, dear god. Thank you for the laugh, I needed that today.

Hans my father always told me that if you want to be a part of the party with the adults, you have to deal with what the adults throw you. Greta chose to get involved and if she gets called out as being angry after she demonstrated anger then fine. I didnt vote for him in 2016, but I will in 2020 and I think its funny/ironic that she updated her twitter bio.... having fun but also kinda admitting that she has no impulse control... like Trump
You say Trump has no impulse control, yet you're voting for him in 2020? Someone with no impulse control shouldn't be at the controls of one of the most powerful nuclear arsenals on Earth.
I am with you regrding playing serious. If you deal in politics, you cannot just punch but must also accept some punching. However, mockery is never fine when someone has a serious mission, and from an older person to a younger, especially a newcomer, and especially someone on the transition from child to adult, is not right. It demonstrates arrogance and the unwillingness to challenge her on the content-side of things. Which hints to the fact that topically she might outsmart him, and he is aware of that. And that is pathetic, to close to my original point.
There is nothing wrong with anger. Anger is a human emotion that arises from a threat. In certain circumstances, such as a threat to society or life, that anger is entirely justified. When expressed in a controlled way, in the proper forum, in a focused manner it is entirely appropriate. Greta did not express her anger by holding closed rallies where she spread lies she new to be untrue, called opponents petty names, mocked their appearance and whipped up hate for entirely personal gain. She expressed anger on behalf of an entire generation and humanity as a whole, in an articulate, forceful and unwavering manner, before an audience that has the power to address the issue but has continually failed to do so. That IS impulse control. Untitled_15.png
No one cares what your father told you. He's not Jesus. It isn't gospel. But nice job trying to give your empty platitude validity and significance by attributing it to your daddy.
She's choosing to be part of the party with the adults because said adults are destroying her (and every other young person's) future. If she had no impulse control she could, with her huge platform and following, do a lot worse than change her Twitter bio. Despite this, she's still a teenager. And Trump is the most powerful man in the world... making fun of a teenager.
No one is surprised by Trump lashing out to Greta. He gets irrate whenever someone else gets chosen to a title he thought should be his. He was sure that he would get voted to "Person of the Year 2019". And now some young girl gets that title? That's more than this narcissistic megalomaniac can handle. So he does what he always does, tweeting childish insults and being the usual bully.
It's so ridiculous that an old man mocks and young girl that just feels the world's pain and tries to change something.
Alpha, Greta's anger is well managed and focused on a critical issue, not impulsive.
