When I look back at all my family photo albums, there is not a single image I find with my grandparents. There are images with mom, dad, my brother... even with my dog and a stray cat whom we had adopted... but seriously none with my grandpa and grandma. And those were the two people I loved the most... I still do, even after they are long gone.

And so, I have sworn that whichever part of the world I will travel to now... I will make sure to photograph a grandparent or great grandparent with their grandchild... for how often really do we get our grandparents into the frame?!

And not only has this project helped me rebuild memories of my childhood in a way... meeting and interacting with all the elderlies has really taught me so much about life.

I hope you like some of these images that I share here.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks the cat stole this photo

All of these photos are beautiful ... but this one brought a few tears when I saw that cat that looked just like my McGee (now buried under my holly tree).

I was a childrens' librarian, that book "The very hungry caterpillar" was very popular with the littles.

Lovely. A lot of these grandparents look like great-grandparents. They have very young “grandchildren” while they look like there their ‘80s or even ‘90s!

She is probably the great-grandmother. What a treasure! I wish I had a photo with mine. She died, when I was 3 and I have a lot memories of her in my mind. Edit. Okay, I wrote this when I only saw this one picture. All of them are obviously great(great?) grandparents.

OMG....soooo beautiful!!! I have 4 grandsons and another grandson due in March. The love I have for them is expressed through your photos. I wish you could take pictures of me with my grandsons so that my love for them would come through and they would NEVER forget how much I loved each one of them.❤️ Thanks for sharing your beautiful work!

no cat & no picture book within my memory; the "stories" (story telling) Gram Livy told me , the pictures created for me encouraged my imagination that I think I recall amazing, vivid pictures.

Mother and Winston would lay on her bed and she would read to him. His favorite story was, The Ginger Bread Man. Mother crocheted him a ginger bread man. They would peal oranges and eat them, while they read

All these photos are more like paintings - beautiful use of light and setting, as well as capturing the deep love and connection between grandparent and grandchild! I'm sorry you never had such photos with your own grandparents, but you've given these families, and vicariously, all the rest of us, an extraordinary gift in capturing and sharing these precious moments! Thank you! You have a remarkable talent! Thank you for sharing!

All of these photo's are beyond remarkable. I love the lighting, subject matter....everything. I have no photo's of me with my grandparents so this especially hits home. Thank you so much for doing this and for sharing it with all of us.

I wonder if they are great-grandparents or just got kids at high age. All seems so old, most of the grandparents to toddlers I see is in their 50s or so.

As my great grandson, was about one and a half, I took him outside often, wanted him to start learning about nature, I gave him a tiny flower to hold, told him it was a pretty flower, a leaf , or a pebble, it was such a joy, I was Blesses !!!

I do wish the photo editing hadn't smoothed out Grandma's hair into a soft blur and added lip gloss to the baby. That aside, it's a sweet picture.
