Lion Is Losing Fight Against 20 Hyenas, Bro Hears His Cries And Rushes To Save Him

Wildlife documentaries are intense, probably because you know anything can happen. And this one will definitely have your blood rushing as well. Recently, BBC Earth has shared a clip from their documentary series, Dynasties, and it shows a lion named Red, finding himself surrounded by a pack of over twenty blood-thirsty hyenas. As Red tries to growl and fend off the hungry pack, the hyenas cackle, paw and bite at him in an attempt to wear him down. Scroll down to check out how the intense battle ended.

“As they mature, young males begin to explore the boundaries of the pride’s territory.” – the narrator explains

“Red has ventured out alone. And blundered straight into the middle of the hyena town.”

“He’s trapped. By over 20 of them.”

“The pack tries to wear him down. this number of hyenas could kill him.”

“It’s impossible to fight them all at once. He can’t keep them at bay for much longer. He is tiring fast.”

I noticed that behavior at the end is extremely similar to what my at does with me. It's cool to see the connections between my little cat and it's wild "cousins"

Cats have their scent glands in their necks... When they rub against things in your home (and on you), it's to 'mark' it with their scent. They also 'head bonk' for affection, it's their version of showing love. Sometimes it's a straight head butt, sometimes they lead with their nose... but it's behaviour common house cats picked up from their wild distant cousins :)
