I've loved photography ever since purchasing my first ’real’ camera in 2010 – it quickly became an all-consuming passion, occupying large amounts of my daily thoughts. The camera leads me to places I otherwise would probably never see, such as Iceland. Without my love of photography, I doubt I would have ever explored Iceland - and even if I had, I highly doubt I would have been up at 3 A.M. to capture the sunrise!

I actually bought my first camera whilst travelling. It was after ten months based in Melbourne, I was about to travel to the bright lights of Hong Kong. I visited a small camera store and purchased a Panasonic Lumix LX3. Just three weeks later I was standing in the dark on a bridge in Hong Kong, capturing the light trail shots that I had dreamt of just a few days earlier.

After four years shooting a variety of genres such as weddings and events, I stumbled across architecture photography in late 2013, and I have been shooting inside abandoned spaces and buildings ever since.

One of my favorite style of images is to capture light rays as they burst into these buildings, something that adds to the aesthetic and ambiance in my photos. These are the ten highlights of the last 5 years, shot right across Europe but Italy is a country that features heavily, the light there is special.

The wealthy were very wealthy at that time. Lovely complex and warm light makes it come alive.

The Monastery

The Monastery

This place has a bit of a nasty history once it fell under Nazi German rule - said to be owned now in 2018, however it still sits disused and trashed which is not a surprise as the chapel was last used in 1978!

Walk Into The Light

Taken in France this image took me a little while to pull together, it was shot in an abandoned and heavily decaying seminary. Since this image was taken the roof has collapsed.
