11.4Mviews
Meet Tre Booker and Madison – a completely adorable couple that just recently attended their school prom. Just like most high school couples, before heading to the dance they stopped to snap a few pictures, which Madison later shared on Twitter. But then she received an unpleasant comment…
“Wow he loves you even tho you’re fat,” Twitter user @BeSafeThough commented. Madison retweeted the comment and responded with a simple message: “Don’t see how people can be rude to people they don’t even know.” Madison’s tweet has gone viral since with tons of people supporting her and her boyfriend. Though the best response came from the boyfriend himself… Check it out below!

But then she received an unpleasant comment
Madison responded with a wistful message, clearly saddened by the fact that she was fat-shamed by a stranger
And then her boyfriend stepped in and said the sweetest thing
The couple has gone viral since
With thousands of people adoring them
And supporting both Tre Booker for being a great boyfriend
And Madison for looking absolutely stunning
This is what we call relationship goals

"such beautiful", so what if she wasn´t? if there are beautiful people they must ugly people or not ... and btw you just say that because you know she is not beautiful but it´s hard to admit it to yourself because you want to be political correct and don´t hurt anyone
Can't believe some of the comments here going: "Well she's fat tbh." You are seriously missing the point. Would you have said the same thing if the girl had tweeted instead: "Wow he loves you even though you're ugly." - because that was basically the shade she was trying to throw.
My thoughts, exactly. Also, give her a break, some people are big until they grow up. I lost so much weight after high school that people could literally hardly recognise me.
i think you are missing the point too. whether she actually is/was/would/could/will ever be fat has nothing to do with the case. It's about a stranger pointlessly being a bitch to her - guess to boost her own poor self esteem or whatever- and being instead blasted to pieces by the happiness this couple radiates as it is
As a fat woman I disagree Daria. You are missing the point. So you are saying that people should be nice to her because she may lose weight and become thin someday. Not the point!!!! No one has the right to rude and make someone feel less than just because they don't fit the mold of beauty societvhas set forth.
Daria is my sister and you have to believe me - she does know what is like to be body shamed! Because of her non conventional appearance, she suffered from lots of bad people at our school, even one teacher! Our parents and I went to the school's principal to defend our loved Daria, but the principal was an ass too. My sister has been told she's ugly and never will find love - and then she did find love, she got married, has a good job - and she is a big inspiration to me! 'Cause i used to be calld the nice one, and I had lots of boys and fans and now I'm 30 and got nothing. But when I think of my little sister how she maked it trough when it seemd the whole world was against her, I gain hope! I look up to her and keep "fight". So don't be offended Porto and Mindy, she knows what she's talkin' about. Her comment was just a thought. Big <3 to you all!
For Mindy - although it may sound so, that's really not what I'm saying. You missed the "my thoughts exactly" part of my comment, meaning I wholly agree with Sheralyn, and I'd have said the same if s/he didn't do it already. Everything else in my reply was just additional.
Aweeee..... Thank you, sistah! *blush blush* ♥
I'm not missing the point, Porto, and, honestly, I expected a reply like yours. I'm just adding a possibility, since everybody seemed to be "concerned".
I think the people pointing out her weight are commenting on her boyfriend's tweet which states that she is not fat. If he had simply commented "I love you just the way you are" I think you would see less comments targeting her body. Guys can be like that. They look at the facts and not the emotional message. That's why we are normally not that good when it comes to emotional intelligence. And when one person talks on the emotional level, and the other person on the factual level, this can get ugly very fast. Because both sides think they are right (and both might be right) and get more and more upset while trying to bring their point across / defending their position. So, if we seem dumb, sometimes we're just focusing on a different aspect. A lot of other times, we simply are dumb.
With "You're not fat" he could have meant that she is simply not fat for him. There are many girls with more weight out there and maybe, in his eyes, she isn't fat yet. Just another possibility.
Well said Lennart. But as a woman i can be daft as a post when it comes to navigating the emotional nuances of others. I don't mean to be insensitive, sometimes that's very much how i come across though
Dzoana, ugly can actually be just as much your fault as anything else, you see ugly is not just what you see on the outside of a person, but what is inside them. Your comment kind of proves that point. A person may be pleasing to the eye, but what is inside them, their personality, can be extremely ugly, and there is only one person to blame for that, and it is usually not their parent.
Ugly is a matter of opinion and cannot be quantified. So there is no comparison. However if she was tall and it was mentioned, that is just a statement of fact. Fat is a matter of fact and is not an insult, is not being rude, it is just a factual description. Beautiful is judgemental and to some she may be , but fat she certainly is.
Well, she is fat though but who gives a shit about that
That's a really nice sentiment, but the reality is that she is, indeed, "fat". The issue I have with this is that the underlining assumption is that you can't be overweight and pretty/beautiful - that "fat" automatically means you're ugly. So, essentially, she /is/ saying "wow he loves you even though you're ugly."

Being fat makes her unhealthy. We associate beauty with a healthy look, so "you're fat" and "you're ugly" are basically the same thing.
Oh, good lord. She still has her baby fat, as many teens do. She's not unhealthily overweight. Fat-shamers love to use this argument, as if they give one single solitary shite about the physical health of the person they're disparaging.

Being ugly is 90% not your fault. Being fat IS 90% YOUR FAULT (also your parents and consumptionism, but you can fight that at some point of your life). Sorry.
if you are sorry for talking junk, why can't you just skip both the bullshit and the follow-up sorry
Wow Dzoana.. where does ugly on the inside fit with your percentages ? You must be freakin perfect.. well the way you calculate anyway
That girl who said such a mean thing to her is just a sad, miserable bitch. What is the point in trying to bring this obviously happy girl down? There is no point. Anyone who thinks that someone else doesn't deserve to be happy has serious mental issues and needs psychiatric help. Good on him for standing up for who he loves. Life is too short to let the snakes get under your skin. Be yourself, be proud, and be happy.
Perfectly said Jen, I agree with you and I'm sure most of the rest of us do too don't waste your time on those idiots who hate on them, they are the ones with the problem, not this sweet young couple :)
;you said it all girl so true
like they say,,,,misery loves company
