Mom Took What Seemed To Be A Funny Pic Of Her Daughter, But Soon Realized The Sad Reality

The saying “never judge a book by its cover” is once again proved correct. What seemed to be a funny picture of a toddler standing on a toilet turned out to be a heartbreaking photo of a toddler practicing a lockdown drill taught in preschool. Considering the recent shootings, it is both good little kids are being taught how to hide from potential attackers, yet heartbreaking at the same time.
Stacey Feeley, the mother of the 3-year-old girl, decided to post this photo on Facebook with a powerful caption: “…Politicians – take a look. This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions. They are barely 3 and they will hide in bathroom stalls standing on top of toilet seats. I do not know what will be harder for them? Trying to remain quiet for an extended amount of time or trying to keep their balance without letting a foot slip below the stall door?…”

Until Americans understand gun control doesn't mean no one has guns but people wanting guns need to go through a process like getting a driver's license adding a criminal background check, then nothing will change. I find it sickening that little children are being taught how to hide if a shooter is attacking their school. What a thought for a child, who should feel safe at school to have.
What if they already have that? In the past week or two, we've had multiple "journalists" "exposing" how easy it is to get a gun. One of them broke federal law and was exposed, another was denied because he's an alcoholic who beat his wife. The more I read about Americans and their gun law, the more I realize that in that culture, the problem is gun-free zones, not guns. If people don't like guns, they can move to a culture where we stab each other instead of shoot each other. I'm not American, I don't like guns, I'm not moving there. It will take more than regulation to change what is clearly a cultural issue. The anti-gun lobby is incredibly unrealistic. Even black market guns in the US will be cheap, just because there's so many guns. Meaning criminals will stay armed. Every single recent mass shooting was committed at a gun-free zone. You know, a place where the shooter knows nobody can kill him.
The ultimate goal of gun control IS no guns. It's the only thing that makes logical sense. That is the only place gun control can truly end up. I live in California. We have universal background checks. We have some of the strictest laws in the nation. Therefore, shouldn't we also have some of the lowest crime rates? It doesn't. So, you'll be saying the laws still aren't strict enough. You'll be saying that until you finally admit that gun control does mean no guns. And you know what? The problem will still be there.
But it works in Canada... and Australia and everywhere else. So are you saying that Californians are just too stupid and violent for rules ? Or that you guys haven't found the RIGHT legislations ?
Gun control has no effect on crime rates. What it does effect, however, is the homicide rate. It decreases it.
I don't know the solution. More gun control, less guns - etc... I only know I want one... and that we need one. I just hope that we all can come together in deciding - and not let the issue continue to divide us as time passes and victims are slowly forgotten.... until it happens again...
Yes, 'cause to drive outside CA and buy whisky and get free revolver in Nevada is SOOOOO HARDDDD :) No guns, no shooting in schools. And in any case – what's wrong with no gun policy?
It doesnt matter how much gun control we have. If anyone really REALLY wanted to get a gun for whatever reason, they will get it one way or another. Theres this thing called the black market and if people look hard enough for it, they will find it. And this is one of those cases where a handful of deviants ruin the image and reputation of the rest of the friendly and lawful. 1 person happens to be mentally ill, gets an illegal gun, and does a shooting and apparently everyone else who owns a gun has to give them up because of it, no questions asked?
Works where Michel O'Narey? Australia's homicide rates and mass murder rates were not affected by their gun ban. Same with UK. Look it up.
When will people like you understand that that's just not true. It wasn't true for Germany or the Soviet Union, to name just two recent examples, where firearm ownership was once common but disappeared before the establishment of draconian regimes. Where do you think the government will draw the line?

Until liberals understand that gun control doesn't take the guns away from criminals, just law abiding citizens, then nothing will change. Why can't people get it through their skulls that banning ANY kind of gun is ONLY taking them away from people who would use them for PROTECTION? It's not that hard a concept. Why are criminals in jail? Because they DIDN'T OBEY THE LAW. So what happens if you make it a law that certain guns can't be owned? THEY WILL BREAK THAT LAW. DUH!!!

Our babies have NOTHING to fear from well armed patriotic Americans. The more legal guns the safer we will all be. You liberals have an irrational, visceral, inexplicable hatred for guns, because you can't bring yourselves you hate the criminals who use them to commit crimes. Your hatred is focused on the victims and the innocent.
It's people like you @Cynthia Campbell who make the changes hard. Guns don't belong in civil life ... and you are one reason why all these people get killed ... because you stop the progress to get rid of guns (gun control is just a step in between). Criminals are not just criminals ... they are normal people until they commit a crime. When normal people have guns their crimes are devastating. Greetings from Australia with no guns and no mass shootings.
You do realize cynthia that the gun owners in the mass shootings were all legal?
"In the 18-year period before the law was enacted, there were 13 mass shootings in Australia in which a total of 104 people were killed and at least 52 others were wounded. With the 1996 shooting, “Australia had had a gut full of these incidents,” said Simon Chapman, emeritus professor of public health at the University of Sydney and senior author of the study. The law was passed in just 12 days. The study found no mass shootings—those in which at least five people were killed, not including the shooter—have occurred since the law was passed" http://www.wsj.com/articles/mass-shootings-in-australia-ceased-after-gun-laws-tightened-study-finds-1466618734
'He who gives up liberty for temporary safety will soon have neither' (Paraphrasing Benjamin Franklin)
Giving up liberty...? Hmm, if you live in a society you have give up some of your liberty. (Except you talking anarchy). You have to follow some rules to make living together possible. And yes, of course some people will still be able to get guns from the black market. But that doesn't mean we have to make easy for them. And the comparison with drugs... So you are saying we should just legalize all drugs because it won't make a difference anyway? (That's you argument for guns...)
Maybe go the other way then and arm every American to the teeth... Anti tank missiles for five year olds .. Makes sense to me....

I agree Sam. If guns are banned completely by law they will still be bought one way or another just like heroin, cocaine, etc...just to name a few. Prohibition didn't keep people from drinking and neither will outlawing guns, etc...
Kal is right! As a Brit I can tell that we have a massacre each and every week. Same thing in Australia, since their gun laws were tightened..... oh, wait..... Sorry, Kal. I tried to help.

Australia had 13 massacres in the 20 years before they banned guns and they've had 10 since so...yeah, still having them at the same rates. Same for UK who just had their Labor Prime Minister shot. The US has a much larger and diverse population that both the UK and Australia.
Oh please - 10 massacres since gun control was implemented is crap! As accurate as your claim the UK had its Labour Prime Minister shot. Hint, the current UK PM, David Cameron, is a member of the Conservative Party. The unfortunate politician who was shot & stabbed was a Labour Member of Parliament. Some basic research may prevent you from posting drivel next time.
Australia hasn't had a mass shooting since we banned guns after Port Arthur. Not sure where you're getting your facts from, but you may need to re-check that. Australia has crime, like any society but we don't have 3 years olds learning about mass shootings and how to keep safe during one.
That's true, Barry. You don't have massacres anymore. And if the US bans guns *and removes them from the market, ends a $3-4 billion dollar industry*, it probably won't have massacres too. However, just like in Australia, you'll see an insane raise in crime. Australians are disarmed and with globalism, you can buy cheaper illegal guns. Crime is rising.
