But beautiful hair also might mean problems. We want hair that we don't have, but we're afraid of changes and we spend huge amounts of money on maintaining it, but still can't have the results we want...

I have long curly hair as a guy and this happens to me (well not that extreme) but it does happen.
This is how I feel, I put drain in it yesterday and still feels like a slow drain.
I'm a guy I used to have long hair so I know the struggle. And the getting moaned at for it.
I blame my long haired sweetie. mine is not long enough to make it gross. plus, I pull the loose bits out during conditioning and leave them on the wall.
Why do we find hair desirable but only under certain conditions and in certain places. Have wondered about this and have never come up with an answer. A hair on our clothes...we just brush it off....in our food...we gag. On our shampooed head terrific...in the drain...UGH!
My Best friend has thick curly black hair down to bum. She has to buy a special hair drainer to put in the drain in her tub/shower so she can catch all the loose hairs that come out when shampooing. She told me when she cleans it out, there is so much hair that it always looks like a small dog has drowned in there!! *L*
maybe she should save it to donate to a wig maker for children who are getting cancer treatments..

there should also be added a picture of- how you have to position your hair in complex ways around, or underneath your pillow, before being even able to lay down- in order to avoid strangling yourself to death in your sleep! Everytime! I only need to wash mine twice a week max. When I use a straightener, I always get "Did you get a haircut?"

It bugs me to no end when a girl lets down her hair in movies and there's no bump from the elastic!
This was worse than when I had a quiff. I had to use hair styling glue, or I would look like a five-year-old had cut my hair for me after a slight breeze.
My wife's hair is Xtreme curly, thick, and need moisture (actually have a conditioner sprinkler) and very long according to the weather... but it looks the best when she wakes up and it's all on one side of head...muah... Loves You! (11 yrs )

Coconut oil is a great product to use in hair, beards, skin, and is a natural sun screen... Welcome men to a wife with thick curls and my three kids with her hair... also leave in conditioner and use just a little shampoo with a half a bottle of conditioner, spacious bristle brushes, and never use a comb!
Sometimes I believe the hairdressers do not know how to elementary brush the hair, especially longer (start from the bottom, not top, do not use dense comb, use the spray non-washable balm...). They start from the top, and then get into such tangles I have to rip them out :(

Yep... cut hair that covered my a** to the waist. During lunch break. Also, sides got angled cut from the lips down to waist. Guess how many noticed at work? (in their defense, that day only guys were working)

If your hair is thick and full, you gotta them them that when cutting short, so they'll get rid of some of the volume too with invisible layers. When they manage it right, it saves my life.

And that's why I never grow my hair long. Luckily, I look far better with my short hair. Before I stay whole day at school, that is. After that it looks like a tumble weed. As some artists pointed out, sometimes even short hair is a long struggle. :D
The shorter it is, the harder to keep it in place since you don't have many options, and the more noticeable it is if it's a tiny bit out of place. But I still prefer short hair.
