There have been a lot of talks and discussions about how different generations are and how that affects them understanding each other and getting along. Having this in mind, Reddit user @Prolificvisions decided to ask: “Gen Z, what are some trends, ideologies, social things, etc. that millennials did that you're not going to continue?” The question that got 12.4k upvotes got generation Z naming things that they find weird and annoying, such as not having any privacy or choosing a stable job that they don’t like instead of going for their dream. They also named some of the rather funny answers such as getting rid of the fashion of “weird-a** eyebrows.”

Bit why should the next generation be any different to the generations before. Generations have been hating on those that came before and after since before we started assigning trendy labels to them. (Incidentally, what came before the Silent Generation?)
And the fact that they really think this is some new "Millennial trend" is freaking hilarious! Boomers were even complaining about the gen before them!! Contempt and stereotyping for the younger and older generations has been around for a LONG time...

OK, now I know whoever wrote this list did it to troll or as a joke to see who'd notice. This item is the very definition of what this list is.
I agree but don't get me started on the newest generation. I was in the hospital the other day because a relative was having her baby. And I noticed this newest generation (broadly speaking) can't focus their eyes beyond a few inches, or lift their own heads. And I've been hearing how they don't hold jobs except sometimes in commercials and stuff like that. And they're into stupid things like object non-persistence and simple shiny, colorful objects. And are very much illiterate and don't even speak English properly. What kind of economy will we have with people like that taking over? I'm saying they're going to destroy this country.

Thank you. Millennials are blamed for so much, so are baby boomers. I'm Gen X and we don't get blamed for much but people in each generation have certain traits that shouldn't be attacked by others. I'm tired of seeing baby boomers get stereotyped for being computer illerate. The modern computers were made accessible to everyone because of people from Baby Boomer years. My 88 year old mother is very computer literate!!

This. Even in a very progressive city in California, it was extremely normal to hear growing up in the 90s and I'm ashamed at how long it took me to understand how ignorant and hateful it is. Now I have a visceral reaction when my older siblings say it, and I try to encourage better ways of expressing themselves when I hear it!

I know it’s depressing but recently a lot of younger millennials were talking about how they want to do something they like. My coach is getting a PhD in history, My economics teacher is going to Law School because she doesn’t make enough etc. and I just can’t think of a reason to justify that much debt. Basically they’re putting themselves in tons of debt to make enough money in something they enjoy. I can’t see a reason to justify it enough. I just want to find a field I’m GOOD at and don’t hate.

I say this as a "millennial" (though must point out the lines between the two are blurred aren't they?) -
Facebook
I have friends also in their early 30s who had kids young. In high school now, teenagers. NONE of that age group use Facebook. It's an "old person's thing" to them. Though being 12/13 it is invariably described as "gay", but you get my point.
As someone who works in the music industry, we plough literally millions (collectively) into Facebook ads each year. But within the next few years it will no longer be our primary social media target.
Which is a shame, because as one of the first and most established social media platforms, it has great advertising tools.
An organic lifestyle seems expensive and kind of dumb. Organic life style meaning buying food that is significantly more expensive but has an organic label on it.

I'm a millenial but my cousin is Gen Z and when we hang out she refuses to watch Star Trek. So based on a sample size of one, Gen Z is going to kill the Star Trek franchise.

Uhhhh....as a GenX, 90% of these aren't Millennial things. Some aren't even GenX, some May even be older than Boomers.

As others have mentioned, I don't feel like those who created/contributed to this list understood the assignment. Almost none of these were 'Millennial trends', and many are REALLY old habits/behaviors/memes, like smoking. Also, a lot are really petty, personal style things, and others are things which are already NOT trends. I worry for the future sometimes.
Sure we have a lot of debt but at least we got educated enough in history to know that most of the items here date back to oh, the dawn of human existence? lol
I thought y'all were big on 'let people do what they want as long as it makes them happy and not hurting other peopl'. What is this then haha
