I'm sure that shaving competes with periods for the first place on every women's blacklist. It's just one of many chores that you regularly avoid. The hair, however, keeps on growing despite your hatred towards it and at some point its removal becomes inescapable.
Only then you realize that razors were designed by devils who want nothing but to scar people and nobody gets the chance to appreciate your efforts because your fur grows back in a heartbeat. My leg hair is so light that no one notices that I haven't shaved in YEARS, is honestly so fine that's it's easier to leave it be
I stopped shaving my legs last summer, and now they kinda look like these legs. I call them my cactus legs :)
As a child, I always called my mother's legs for "spider legs", if she had gone too long without shaving. That's what they look like, haha :)

Sicilian struggles. My hair grows back in two days, black, sharp and only below the knee. Until I turned 45. Now random aggressive pubey looking ones grown on the back of my thighs. sigh. When we were little, we had an aunt that nobody wanted to sit on her lap because of the sharp scratchy legs.
I am the same. I haven't shaved anywhere In 40 years or so! :) I am basically hairless and always have been. Of course, there are downsides to that. My 'ponytail' is about the size of a dime, hair on my head is very baby fine and on the thin side and my eyebrows? You mean those 2 or 3 stray hairs on each side of my face? I have no need to shave, but I suffer from eyebrow envy on everyone I see! LOL
I don't shave often the more I shave the more the hair grows back. I just do it in the summer time once, twice if needed.
Sigh... yes. If only my head hair could match the strength and speed of my leg hair.
I just don't want my boobs flopping around, I wear clothes for comfort's sake, not modesty's sake lol
My body is the worst for ingrown hair, due to low weight and malnutrition. My legs constantly look covered in chicken pox from trying to remove them :( I think I actually tweeze them more than I shave nowadays

depends on the shade of hair you have: bc with dark thights and medium brown hair, you can see the hair that goes out the thight. Realized it at the worst moment...

Well...I think some body hair is actually pretty cute on girls, especially in a relationship, it shows how comfortable you are with one another and how thorough a relationship can be. Just like the "i don't give a f**k" look on guys. People who say those things are nasty are just superficial, you should pity them for not being able to express themselves or not having understanding for those around them, not listen to them ;)
For me it is not a matter of being uncomfortable around my husband. I have been shaving long before I ever dated anyone. I prefer the feel for myself. Just so happens he gets to enjoy it too. But I agree, if a guy or gal can't handle you not being constantly smooth that is pretty petty and superficial.

I can't go without shaving for too long, purely because when it gets to a certain length, it hurts when my clothes rub on my legs.
This post suddenly reminds me of my days as a college student in the mid 60s, joining my parents who were stationed in Germany at the time. Suddenly I went from clean shaven women to hairy legs everywhere. The first rule to attracting a GI after the war was probably learning to shave one's legs and underarms. :D
I find the same is true of clothes, hair and make up :) The further into a relationship the less both of us bother about how we look to each other, yes it is different if we go out but around each other we are comfortable.
The only thing I have to add to this is that creepy, whispy pimply mustaches have NEVER been socially acceptable. That s**t is gross and makes you look like a pedophile.
I shave my legs cuz I’m Scandinavian and my hair on my legs is suuuper thick and takes ages to tackle and I shave when my hair goes through my tights
I shave because I hate prickly feelings and because wearing fleece leggings becomes so satisfying.
I think I tried shaving twice when I was in school but haven't shaved since. I wax my legs once in a blue moon when I'm bored at home and pluck my armpit hair maybe once a month xD I have bad eyesight so what I don't see I don't mind.

Just a weird question: Is bleaching your leg hair a thing? Like I have a friend who is a brunette but has super light hair, so her hair is super blond and invisible (leg hair, arm hair, eyebrows, etc.). It got me thinking about it so I was wondering... I probably sound like an idiot, but shaving and makeup is not my thing. As in I don't understand it at all.
I don't really get this.. I love shaving.. I love the feel of my smooth skin when I put on my clothes! And the feel of my sheets in bed with my smooth skin... I also love doing my hair and makeup!
Which is great, for you, I think the point of this is to reassure women that they don't *have* to shave if they don't want to, and they shouldn't feel shamed by anyone for whatever their choice is.

Would like to note, using shaving cream really helped my legs to stop burning and bleeding after shaving. Give it a try, if you'd like!
@ SallyBrite, no I dont shave my head to feel clean. I love my cherokee hair and wash it to feel clean. I also wash my mouth and watches what it says :/
Odd, I'm non binary and thought I really understood this. Being misgendered as a female all my life and all... But apparently not. Very odd 😒
I'm a man and I shave my armpits and my pubic hairs. Just because it makes me feel clean and smooth. Luckily I do not have much body hair, I'm smooth chested and have little hair on my legs. I have to shave my beard and mustache only every other day, so I guess I was born Lucky. But why should shaving your legs be such a problem? I never heard my former wife complaining, and I for one do not have any trouble shaving, seldom cutting myself ... it's not really Rocket Science, you know.
Shaving legs and underarms is a problem because it is physically awkward to have to reach to these places. 50% of one's legs cannot be seen while shaving them, so in addition to being a yogi/contortionist while shaving, you also have to do it "blind", which is such a bad idea when this involves a sharp razor. The safest way to shave would be to use some sort of electric razor system, but I have never seen one that is made for the intensely curved contours of womens legs and/or private areas. As a 54 year old, I have reduced the amount of shaving I do to the barest minimum: when my pits start to smell, and below my knees in the summer (I only wear midi length skirts). I still manage to cut myself, too. Legs are simply a huge area of the body to try to maintain in a hairless condition. Huge.

I like girls who don't shave their legs, and have hair on their back. It turns me on. But armpits should be shaved.
Careful, some of us prefer beards, so that particular bit of passive aggression might backfire. Also, the idea that you get to dictate someone else's body hair is repugnant. My legs, my choice; your face, your choice.
