We both don't really like the conventional, traditional wedding, and being in the spotlights the entire day, so I really hope that it will help us ACTUALLY keeping it small... :P
Omg! Thanks guys! Yea I am now a married woman and nothing went right at the wedding and it was over so fast. The money was not worth it but I'm just happy I married my bff and we hung out with our friends and had pizza and drinks afterwards!

Yeah. I love this site but when they trim it down by over 50 items which happens quite a bit, it gets a bit annoying...
I feel that the more over the top the wedding is the more likely it won't last.
I get the feeling that there is a keeping up with the Jones mindset, and playing one upsmanship to all of this wedding planning. A wedding should not be a competition and people should not brag about the its opulence or the amount of money spent.
Sure, if you and your family have tons of money to burn have a huge bash. If not, just keep within your means. Why get into debt for one single day and some photos.

Weddings are overrated. We had the shortest ceremony, then just had a fun party. We served grilled cheese!
Every wedding? none of this happened at most of the weddings I've been at!
You can have a huge, expensive wedding if you wait later in life instead of getting hitched at 17 and can't afford it.
Lol true shit. I’m in my 30’s. Dropping a few grand on a huge milestone is no big deal to me.

Is it wrong to notice people who come to your wedding and reception do not bring a card or gift? I had that with about 5 of my guests and found it rude.
It is rude to expect something.
Gifts are why some people invite so many guests. Greed.
Although it's polite and customary to bring a gift, some people just can't afford to give anything.
