The bridesmaids should never outshine the bride. Some brides, however, seem to be taking this to the extreme when dressing up their maids of honor. Or maybe time changes fashion trends so much, that after some the style that was "in" starts to look simply ridiculous. Either way, Bored Panda has collected a series of vintage bridesmaids dresses that are so funny, that you'll probably feel sorry for the women who wore them.

The 70s fashion brought outrageous patterns, floppy hats, and undiscernable silhouettes to the mix, 80s fashion later added vivid color, spandex, and space-filling hairdos. No matter the era, though, these absolutely unique vintage outfits would make your silly Spongebob PJs look like a classy suit. The dresses day "garden party" but the hats say "yippee ki yay". The groom's tux says "we'll be here all week, try the veal and don't forget to tip your warehouse."

I'm sure the outfits are bad but I can't see them. My eyes are glued on the hair of the guy on the right.

The dresses are blessedly simple. The issue here is the headgear. They look like someone re-purposed Easter decorations.

These would be pretty if they lost the head piece. That kids face is priceless

OMG, the 60s are back! Who ever thought Empire waists looked good? Everyone looks pregnant when they wear those things.

It looks like the flower girl caught a whiff of something she doesn't like.

The little girl is like: I'm going to burn all these dresses so Mom won't repurpose them for my wedding.

The bridesmaids and flower girl look like they were dipped in Pepto Bismol.

Definitely 60s. Note the entire wedding party can not yet legally vote. Graduate from high school, get married, have baby. Pretty normal in the 60s.

Eastern Parade. (I'm quite distracted by the Brides' shoes)

I think her feet are basically on the wrong legs. Why don't the toes of those shoes turn up? Apparently, the bride was very concerned about foot comfort....

And what are those white pull-cords hanging down from the hats? Ugly!

That is not how the garter is supposed to be coming off. Bridegroom does it, unless it's a huge lesbian wedding.

That little bridesmaid is strongly against this kind of behavior.

I think the head gear would have worked better if the bows were poufy. They kind of look like nurse hats like this. But idc, I love the stupid dangles. It's so ultra-fem.

Not to crazy about the bride's shoes. They look more business than formal.

I forget how young people got married back the day.....all these fresh little faces. Before someone jumps my s**t....I'm not saying I think it's a great idea to get married fresh out of high school. I'm just observing.

If you go inside the church, you'll see that all of the wallpaper in the hallways is gone.

I wonder if the bride had an open wound that the Dr didn't want her licking?

I honestly am not bothered by the oddness of the dresses. I just live how happy everyone looks. No one is trying to look cool; they seem genuinely happy to be part of the day.
