Americans Share Brutally Honest Descriptions Of The States They Live In, And The Result Is Hilarious
The 50 states of the U.S.A can often get Europeans confused. Is there really that much difference between Mississippi and Alabama? Washington and Oregon? To outsiders not so much, but of course locals will definitely let you know! To get more clarification on how to distinguish between them, one Redditor asked Americans what are the things everyone should know about each state. It's hard to say if this person got what they were asking for, but the result is definitely amusing.
While some users offered tactful descriptions about unique nature of their states and shared important historical facts, others were a lot more candid. Americans dispelled absurd myths, showed what makes them proud and didn't hesitate to point fingers at their own flaws with hilarious examples. Wayyyy tooo many people all trying to be at the same place at the same time. TRAFFIC. I live here and it drives me crazy sometimes... not to mention the lines and the lines and the lines, lines, lines!! They never end.
This is why I do my shopping and stuff during the off-hours. If you can work that out with your lifestyle, it's a gamechanger.

When I think of California I instantly think of punk rock, skating and smoking weed.
With me being in California, i would say "Wildfires, Wildfires Everywhere"

Well, we have gun control, valleys, coasts(cold and warm), hollywood, great amusement parks, valleys, mountains, deserts, yosemite, and in n out and overpricing
Much like Los Angeles. Style without substance. Let's all live in a desert and force other states to give us water because the northern half won't give it up. Let's say health is important but have the worst quality of life. California dreamin'.
Why do you think that song is titled "California Dreamin" instead of "California Livin"? ----- Reality check: CA is a mixture of substance and style, with some convergence of them. Also so big that multiple cultures exist. SF is no LA, and neither are like Fresno. And that's just a start.

Having lived or vacationed in 27 of the states, this seems pretty accurate. :) This amazing country has so much diversity, I don't understand why more Americans don't visit more of their own country.
That’s because the US is too damn big and we don’t have enough vacation time to visit many places. Most people that travel the states are older retired folks.

I wonder if we could describe English counties that way - Am Cumbrian and Cumbria didnt even exist til 1974 - actually iI'm a Lancastrian
for some reason they combined 3 historic counties - Cumberland, Westmoreland and Northumberland - stole a bit of Lancashire and renamed us Cumbria
