30 Funny Memes People That Travel Will Relate To
338Kviews
Travel is life! The world is a big and incredibly diverse place, full of new cultures, languages, tastes and smells, why would you consciously choose to stay only in your little corner?
Exciting and adventurous as it can be though, there are some downsides too. Travel writers rarely mention the delayed flights and buses, the cockroach-filled hotel rooms or the exotic kinds of illnesses that can strike unexpectedly.
Either way, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. To get you in the mood for your next trip, we here at Bored Panda have collected a list of the best and funniest travel memes. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and bon voyage!

Do you travel as much as you'd like to? For some people, it's easier than others. For example, the United States is the only developed country in the world without a single legally required paid vacation day or holiday. For those on lower incomes, this makes travel a luxury that can rarely be afforded. In contrast, every country in the European Union has, by law, at least four work weeks of paid vacation. This is one of the reasons that only 36% of Americans own a passport, meaning that 64% never leave their home country. Given that travel is supposedly able to make you happier, more open-minded, creative and intelligent, this is bad news for Americans all round, and explains rather a lot.
Writers and other creative people have been inspired to do some of their best works by travel. For example Ernest Hemingway, who headed to Spain and France to discover an exotic and dangerous way of life that came out thrillingly in his stories; and Mark Twain, who sailed the Mediterranean in 1869, and wrote that travel is “fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Who are we to disagree with these American greats?
That's why I travel alone! You make friends on the road and can do whatever you want. Sometimes it's lonely but I got tired of waiting for my friends to get their sh** together.
And then there is always one who was to adhere to strict schedule and one who is always making everyone wait. Sooo relaxing to be the one in the middle!

Somebody bring that dog in out of the rain! He is a good boy and he needs some belly rubs!
I travel on my own. When I get asked 'why' I tell them 'if I don't take myself no-one will'. I love traveling on my own. I do it in MY time and don't have to wait for anybody else, besides, you don't have to share a bed when on your own. King size beds feel so much more roomier.
Darn straight! I love getting a bed to myself!

Same with me I like to do what I want to do when I want to I'm too selfish to always do whatever the other person wants to do.
Me and some friends planned a ski trip to South Lake Tahoe. We booked a fucking chalet at the base of Heavenly Mt. It slept 15 and 17 said they were going. We set it up so everyone paid a little at a time up until travel time and then everyone would be fully paid for everything but their own extras. By the time it came travel day, there were three of us...with a fucking chalet that sleeps 15, a hot tub, and a stocked bar. The three of us had a blast
I can relate. This is why I never take the lead for group plans any more.
I went to the States alone twice, because no one else wanted to go. I liked being able to stop and go whenever I wanted, although the single room supplements were annoying.
Adam Galinsky, a professor at Columbia Business School told The Atlantic that scientists have been proving what we know intuitively when we travel: That the new sounds, smells, language, tastes, sensations, and sights spark different synapses in the brain and may have the potential to revitalize the mind. “Foreign experiences increase both cognitive flexibility and depth and integrativeness of thought, the ability to make deep connections between disparate forms,” he explained, adding that it's not simply to act of being on foreign land, but something deeper. “The key, critical process is multicultural engagement, immersion, and adaptation. Someone who lives abroad and doesn’t engage with the local culture will likely get less of a creative boost than someone who travels abroad and really engages in the local environment.”
Fair point. A person's own weight is never a factor, either, when practically it should be.
I guess it's all about getting out of your comfort zone. Being forced to adapt to unfamiliar surroundings is bound to be beneficial in a multitude of ways, and as a migratory species the urge to move is in our blood. Think of the epic tales of migration in our religions and literature, the explorers who found new lands to settle on, as far as the tiniest, most isolated islands in the vast Pacific ocean. These tales inspire us to discover, to be curious, to meet our fellow human beings and to understand that, despite what the TV might tell you, we are one and the same. We share the same hopes and dreams, we can form lasting friendships across cultures and deepen our appreciation for ourselves as well as our planet.
Speaking about getting out of your comfort zone Bored Panda spoke to Rodrigo, who, together with his wife, runs the super-informative travel blog Out Of Your Comfort Zone. He shared some insights into what he gets from his ultimate passion. "Above all, traveling has helped me learn…a lot! But not just “textbook” history," he told us.
"Traveling has given me a broader perspective of the world around me and helped me see how things connect and what my place is in it all (which I’m still trying to figure out!) It has let me meet people with different cultures, customs, and views of the world. This has made me more tolerant and challenged many of my own perspectives. I’ve found that when you have a coffee or a beer with someone from the other side of the world, you can easily see that we are not so different after all (despite what part of the media & some politicians tell us)."
"Altogether, traveling has gotten me out of my comfort zone, has challenged me constantly, and has given me numerous experiences that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. All of this has molded my personality and I believe it has developed into a better person."
"And if nothing that I said above about traveling was convincing, I met my wife (well, she wasn’t my wife then) in a hostel while we were both traveling on our own. And if that’s not enough to say how awesome traveling has been for my life, then nothing is."
So what are you waiting for? Get out of your comfort zone and explore our wonderful world!
Srsly bro? You could have woken me up! If it was for nothing i would sue you, but for food, I would give you a $1 bonus cuz im broke.
Well, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to be on the plane in the first picture. If it is that close to the ground, it is crashing, as there is no airport THAT close to the Eiffel Tower. :p
Omg Yes! That's why I make sure not to drink anything an hour before boarding.
omg these are sooo relatble. my bio teacher literally started at me while i was laughing... oops?
Lol same

Lindsay, are you OK?
i always ask myself why people stand up and queue up as soon as boarding begins.. i mean everyone has his/her assigned seat, so why all this stress.. i want to spend as little time as possible in the plane^^
We want to make sure we can fit our carry on bag in an overhead bin near our seat.

Who says that’s stressful? You have to be ready to get off as soon as the row ahead of you is gone. I ALWAYS stand up when the plane lands if only because it’s so claustrophobic on airplanes that I want off as as soon as possible.
You would not get me in the middle of that crowd
you understood me wrong but that's something i don't understand too.. you can easily sit for another 5-15min before the doors open and you can get out and i don't think standing makes big difference when your claustrophobic^^ space is limited anyway

@ Annie - No. I don’t have you wrong. You didn’t read the post, did you? And not only do you not know what you’re talking about, you’re a jackass, too. Thankfully, I can afford business class.
Yes Messy, you did misunderstand anisub. Anisub was talking about boarding, your response was to do with disembarking. And your response was unnecesarily rude and snobby.
well i guess you didn't really read my comment, did you? and thank you for that, no need to act like that but anyways at least RaroaRaroa did understand me :)
"United States is the only developed country in the world without a single legally required paid vacation day or holiday" What the hell??? This is inhumane.
4 weeks paid leave in New Zealand that you take when you want (timing approved by your employer of course so you're not all off at once), plus public holidays like Christmas/NewYear (4 days total), 2 days at easter, Queen's birthday, labour day, Waitangi Day, your region's anniversary day, ANZAC day, all paid.
Nice you get a day off for the Queen's birthday - am in Britain and we dont. Plus she has TWO birthdays. But she is the queen, she can have as many as she wants.
Agree. When I hear about benefits in other countries, I'm amazed. In the U.S. it's all about profits. Employees are a commodity and replaceable. Often overworked and under paid.
Waiting for it to reduce to 30....
Aaaaand it's at 30😁
From 98 to 60 in 4 hrs
Half of these are very repetitive, so why not.

It's 30 now. Ugh. STOP DELETING POSTS!!
Nikki - no, it doesn't affect their revenue at all because they make money by selling ads, it doesn't change with the number of posts.
So that's what's going on! FOMO. Doesn't that just make for less revenue for BP?
Crap. They trimmed it by 38 when I was done...at least it wasnt 30 yet.........
But why? I've been wondering why the posts were so short.
Who else does not even go anywhere?
Me! If it's not Wal Mart or a doctor's appointment, I'm not going.
POV-ur reading this in 2021 and coronavirus is still here and u got played thinking it was gonna end LOL
i cant relate at all but these are funny i still live with my parents and there strictedt and i never been on a plane :(
great memes
Responding to 'Aunt Messy'...your comment to 'anisub' was unnecessarily nasty and showed quite a degree of ignorance and arrogance. Being able to afford business class means you have money, but that's not an indication of class.
yup
I just don't understand why air travel has to be such a fuss. Checked baggage fees? It's so normalized now, but I still think it's immoral. And they'll give you free baggage check at a boarding counter anyway, the whole thing is a scam. We really need to demand a change to the system.

Well that became really boring pretty quickly!

You do realise that no amount of recycling, shampoo bars and meat-free Fridays will ever recover the environmental cost of a single long-haul flight.
Sounds like someone who's never been anywhere. Take a break from the picket line, and go somewhere. Walk, hand-glide, row-boat, roller skate, whatever. Just go preach elsewhere
You do realize you're being a total Becky right now......right?

Oh yes, I forgot. Using someone's given name as an insult is always a great rebuttal to any argument. Grow up.
And... what? I fail to see the relevance. Traveling does not have to be only by plane, though in most cases it is overall the most efficient one.
Becky boo just came here to whine. She’s bitter because no one wants to travel with her...ever.

You don't see the relevance. Bully for you. Doesn't change the fact that travelling for pleasure is doing massive damage to the planet.
This is a list of travel memes, we don't want this kind of buzzkill here.
