Trail cameras are used mainly by hunters, set up to record pictures automatically when it senses motion. They can also be used for wildlife photography, security or just simply observation of animal movements in their natural habitat.
Fortunately for us, this technology has another cool, unexpected benefit: it allows us to see all the crazy and mischievous things our furry friends get up to when they think nobody is watching. Bored Panda has compiled a list of occasions when the camera caught the perfect shot, some hilarious, some slightly sinister and some just downright weird.

Oooo!! Nooooo!!! I really didn't need to see this one. Ok, I am going to imagine the cat turned around and slashed the owls face so the owl had to let him go! The cat ran back home and everything was back to normal. Kitty was a bit scratched up but lived to be almost 20 yrs old.
This happened to my 18 pound black cat as well. Owl did not get far. Cat survived and has not been outside since.
There's no way the owl could ever fly off with that size load. Kitty lived.
PS: Not true. My cats have all been outdoors-in-daytime/indoors-at-night cats, and have lived to 20, 18, 19, 19. That's a pretty good innings! Also, I feed them fresh and well so they just sleep in the sun.

My chihuahua got caught by a bird of prey like this. It let go because it flew up into a bush but it had ripped off a large chuck of her skin. She didn't make it.

That cat's too big and heavy for he owl to carry too far. Owls eat what is small enough to swallow at once.
Tell that to my friend who lost 4 cats before they decided to only have indoor cats. They SAW the owl nab the last one.

These animals are here in the suburbs, too .... fox ,deer , raccoons , ducks , turtles in my yard. Then, wild turkeys & boars after grubs on the golf course behind me . Unfortunately, we have coyotes ,too. One was at the end of the driveway at & 7AM .... not the least afraid of a broom.
