The other day we were decorating Christmas cookies and my 6 YO began to describe the colours (eg. watery blue, bright yellow). Anyways, when asking for a particular colour, she would use her descriptive words so she began saying things like, “can you pass the bloody red”. She didn’t know what she was saying really. But should we tell her off for it?

No way, she’ll learn eventually, currently, I think she’s just trying to get used to colors using something of that color, and naming the color as such

So, my 4 year old girl lost her first tooth yesterday. We spent ages looking for it but just couldn’t find it anywhere! We decided that she must have swallowed it and she began to freak out because the tooth fairy wouldn’t be able to give her money for the tooth. We told her that we would leave a note for the tooth fairy, and we did. As we were tucking her into bed that night she told us that she knew that she had swallowed it because when it fell out she tried to put it back in... and her hand slipped.

My four-year old granddaughter and I were in my car on our way to a gasoline station. I have been raising her since she was born. She is now 13. Annie asks me for candy and I tell her no. She says "but i want candy." I laughingly tell her I want a boyfriend and you don't see me with one, so you don't always get what you want. She thinks what I said was very funny and tells me that I am her's and she is not going to share me. One week later, it is bedtime and Annie is saying her prayers. She stops, looks at me and says "you know where your mommy and daddy are"? I tell her they are in heaven. She says "that's where your boyfriend is, so stop asking for him." Four years old.
