Even smart people do stupid things sometimes. It could be a misunderstanding, a lack of sleep the night before, or just a simple misjudgment, otherwise known as a brainfart, that can strike at any time.

Harsh as it may seem, it is human nature to have a giggle at these funny fails. If you are lucky, you were alone, and the only damage done was a slightly bruised ego. These people, however, had their brainfarts captured on camera for us all to chuckle at! From a simple slip of common sense in funny comments to a glaring lack of logic while trying to deliver the best comebacks, these moments of stupidity collected by us here at Bored Panda will leave you in disbelief, shock, and tears of laughter!

Seriously? They take a disease that killed off a third if Europe‘s population as an example for why vaccinations are not necessary?

Also, the plague didn't disappear. It's still around and people still get it, it's just under better control now.

There is no vaccine for bubonic plague, which is caused by a bacillus. It is treated with antibiotics, doxycycline being the drug of choice. Doxycycline is a derivative of tetracycline which is used to treat acne.

Tetracycline made all my joints swell... that was fun. Better than the bubonic plague though!!

Back in medieval times, people killed cats for being "evil" and "witch familiars" which caused an abundance of rats which accelerated the plague. Now we have people demonizing vaccines, and already, previously eliminated diseases like the measles have made a comeback.

Yes, and the plague killed more than 1/3 of the population. Whole towns were decimated. The plague is a disease of poverty, hunger and a lack of sanitation, and as Mick pointed out, there is no vaccine.

It spread so quickly. Also, the Flu epidemic a hundred years ago in America. The caregivers would catch it themselves and spread it to others.

The Spanish flu killed thousands before it just petered out too, but some scientists say we are due for another flu type plague that kills millions. And since everything is treated w antibiotics these days, it will be harder to get rid of. It may start out viral, but the subsequent bacterial pneumonia is what's going to hard to beat.

Anti-vaxxers are not automatically stupid... Sometime around the late 1800s-mid 1900s there were sharp declines in disease mortality. Doctors IN MEDICAL SCHOOL are told that the decline of vaccine-preventable ones were caused by vaccines, and the decline of others was caused by improving sanitation and health education. Couldn’t sanitation have been responsible for the decline of vaccine-preventable diseases too? This is never explained to doctors in medical school. Paraphrased from something Dr. Jayne L. M. Donegan said.

Let's not forget that the plague was caused by a bacteria (yersinia pestis), and vaccines are for viruses only.

I don't know how to answer about vaccines, as a person who is of a autoimmune strand, today vaccines that uses dead virus and operates exciting the autoimmune system, it's an open door to a difficult future life plagued with any amount of systemic illnesses related to immune system as lupus, sarcoidosis, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoimmune_disease. My great-grandmother suffered asthma, her son, my grandfather rheumatoid arthritis, my mother lupus erithematosus, my daughter, is celiac and suffers inflammatory bowel disease, imagine, and I couldn't be less mine is Hashimoto, (attacking thyroid gland) just imagine if we all were vaccinated with actual ones. My great-grandmother died in al asthmatic convulsion, my grandfather of a heart failure weakened because of his arthritis, they lived in times and places where vaccinations were inexistent, and maybe because of that could live to their early seventies.

I may be one of the few intelligent people on here, as the majority of you spout off your opinions and then attack those who don't agree, just like a liberal! Anyways, we are all entitled to our opinions. If you get your vaccinations, then you shouldn't worry about those who don't, you morons.

Well actually you not being vaccinated allows outbreaks and you can accidentally effect people with weak immune systems which the diseases are extremely lethal so... yeah... Unless you think they should all live in bubbles then

This Bored Panda vaxx propaganda is so cringy and stupid .. I am annoyed that people questioning the way vaccine is administrated, like if the hexa-vaccine is really safe and others point are immediately scorned and insulted as "stupid antivaxxers". Typical liberal propaganda - narrow one-point view without any discussion and attempt to see other side arguments or facts.

Saying plague disappeared without vaccination and questioning the way vaccine is administrated is 2 different things
