Some accounts and posts on the Internet remain stuck in our minds either by being extremely relatable or exciting. That’s what the Dinosaur Couch (formerly called Dinos and Comics) series is about. Being a dinosaur in these comics is challenging because they’re fighting inner battles, and neither therapy nor a good night’s sleep can improve it. But at least they try to look out for each other.

These cute dino comics cover mental health topics, existentialism, and philosophy. The series doesn’t have the action scenes you’d expect from a dinosaur comic, but it doesn't need to. The lovely characters trying to navigate their complex emotions are enough.

We’ve never seen dinosaurs humanized and so relatable! It’s time to go on a journey with these characters and see how they cope with life, mental health, and relationships. Let us know which honest dinosaur comic you related to the most.

Who Makes the Dinosaur Therapy Comics?

The Dinosandcomis series is made by a writer named James and an artist who goes by K. They’re from Finland and Canada, respectively. “We chose dinosaurs as characters for our comics because they’re cool,” the series’ creators told Bored Panda.

Even though the dinosaurs are making an effort to combat their mental health issues, they’ve kind of gotten used to their predicaments. James and K say it’s partially true. “We think it’s a pretty common experience. You have a super hard time before you get diagnosed, then once you’re diagnosed, you (hopefully) get the support you need to make it a bit easier, but it’s always part of your life. And now it’s been diagnosed, you think about it more, try to understand it and rationalize it,” they state.

But that doesn't mean the dinosaurs are doomed. “We think there’s hopeful comics already. They are mostly focused on friends and loved ones because as helpful as drugs can be, we think the support of those around you is key to coping with mental health issues,” James and K state.

What Is Dinosaur Couch?

The Dinos and Comics creator changed the series name to Dinosaur Couch. However, they did post about the rationale behind the original name. “Dinos and comics is a kinda rubbish name BUT it does provide me with a loophole. I post dinosaurs, I post comics, I am not committed to always including dinosaurs in the comics,” the creator stated in a Twitter post

Many of these cute dinosaur comics are shown in a therapy setting where the dinos ask questions or overthink. This has helped to normalize the process of seeking therapy and makes it a regular part of everyday life. James and K also create these comics to help deal with their mental health struggles. For James, it has helped him deal with his depression and ADHD. K finds drawing therapeutic and a way to escape from anxious thoughts.

You can find some exciting merch at their dino store. They have also written three books: Dinosaur Therapy, Dinosaur Philosophy, and Dinosaur Friendship.

That's what people don't understand. Clinical depression means feeling down for no reason at all. If something bad happens and you feel down that's a normal response.
