My name is Irina Blok, and I am a designer based in San Francisco. Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, we've had to adjust to living in the new normal. Everything has changed dramatically, from working to socializing and doing daily tasks. I myself have been working remotely for almost a year now, and all my travel plans and vacations got canceled. As a silver lining, I've had a lot more time for creative hobbies, such as cooking and drawing. One day, I started drawing cartoons to help blow off stress, naming the series Covid Life. One of my first cartoons was about highlighting the absurdity of doing multiple tasks, like going to a doctor, socializing, working, etc.—all from the couch.

Because the pandemic has touched the whole world, Covid Life cartoons have become very relatable to the global audience. After I posted cartoons on Bored Panda (I, II, III), they became viral, reaching millions of people worldwide, and have been translated to more than 30 different languages, including Japanese, Mongolian, Russian, Spanish, and Greek!

The pandemic is not a laughing matter, but sometimes laughter is the best medicine. I hope you enjoy these and hope the pandemic will be over soon.

Viral update: I am grateful to Bored Panda for helping to spread the word, and providing a platform for emerging, unknown creators. As someone who only started drawing cartoons a few months ago, it was amazing to see my artwork reaching such a wide audience and even translated to more than 30 languages. This inspired me to keep on drawing and producing more art. I think one day, this could also become a book!

The movie theatres near me are open (with social distancing regulations in place), but the sad thing is that barely any movies are even showing.

Things I miss: Not being scared of getting sick / dying. Not being afraid my family / loved ones will get sick and die. Flying. Working. Touching things with my bare hands.

Lol. I like how different people are. To me the only thing wrong with this picture is the missing "don't" in the title

Dress up! Put on a nice outfit, do your hair, put on makeup... Even if you're just in your house by yourself, that doesn't mean you can't dress up for you.

Should a feel guilty about missing samples more than other humans?

Things I will miss when covid is over: Not seeing people’s ugly aśs mouths and lips. Less people being out and about. Idiots making themselves super obvious.

Things I will NEVER MISS: 1) Other people. 2) Not wearing a mask. I don’t get why people whine so much about it, even pro-mask people won’t stop complaining. Oh, sorry you got a new accessory 🙄🙄

I don't like wearing a mask. I'm not going to complain about it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it :/

I miss salad bars more than just due to COVID, most of them around me closed a few years ago :(

I now can only get to my gym on the weekends, since they now close so early during the week and I don't sign off work in time. I'm sort of a gym rat and home workouts just aren't the same.

I like working from home - the commute is definitely better! The only drawback is my cat interrupting me.

I don't know if this was meant to be symbolic but in some cultures, ravens are seen to be omens of death and it is literally bitting us in the ass.
