The pun is a misunderstood and often maligned form of comedy. Most of us, if you asked what we think of puns, would say we find them groan-worthy and associate them with dad jokes. But there’s so much you can do with language - it’s such a broad category of comedy that even if you think you can’t stand puns, there’s bound to be one out there for you too. Not to mention, dad jokes have actually been enjoying a surge of popularity in recent years.
Here are some posts that people shared on /r/puns as well as /r/PunPatrol, proving that wordplay is a thriving art. Some of the setups that people make just so they can take a picture of it and pun around might concern you. Others didn’t have to do anything, just find some poor sap who asked an innocent question and left themselves wide open.

People who work on submarines hate puns. I just think they have a negative altitude.
Puns....eh... I once entered a competition to win a prize for the best pun... To increase my chance of winning I submitted about 10 entries... Not one of them won... In fact No pun in ten did.
My brother once said that Louis Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. I said, 'You mean Neil.", He said, "Fine, kneel on the moon."
My daughter has Pun day at school so I glued letter Bs all over a shirt... Shes a "B"ee keeper and im a nerd...lol
In the '70s a vessel shop in Houston put an ad for "submerged arc welders" in the local paper. Unfortunately, the ad came out as "submerge dark welders".
wow, i cant believe people have so much free time on their hands to come up with these; these jokes are very well thought through, i wouldnt expect them from any normal person other than a comedian; it is their job... unless they are all stolen from comedians in the first place. but for a normal internet user to come up with these just for the VIRTUAL popularity and attention... wow :/
