I’m A Primary School Teacher, Here Are My 31 New Comics That Illustrate What It’s Like
I am a primary school teacher from Galway, Ireland. By day, I have the fun task of educating the next generation of kids… by night… I’m an artist! All my comics are drawn the old-school way—with a pen, paper, and a lightbox.
Not only do teachers engage with and enjoy these comics, but the students themselves seem to love the drawings and relate to the humor, which is fantastic. I hope that these comics humorously illustrate the hard work, dedication, and care that teachers provide our students every day.
My comics have been published in a book form, which has become a bestseller here in Ireland. The comics have been praised by Matt Groening and the book has since been endorsed by Mike Reiss, Emmy award-winning writer and producer of The Simpsons. I never imagined all this would have happened when I started to post the "When's it Hometime?" teacher comics online back in 2016.

I like in calvin and Hobbes when his dad convinced him be photos were colour photos but everything was black and white then XD

I knew a kid when I was young who fully understood why things were B&W on a B&W television, but just couldn't wrap his head around certain things still being B&W even on a color set.
I used to think this tho..from the Wizard Of Oz, since everything was black and white at the beginning

I actually had a student ask me once when did colour start. She was serious.
When I was very young I 100% thought that the world was actually black and white back then.

I feel this. You start out so hyped and ready for a new school year (or whatever) and it just goes flat after a time.
I really love these, I'm sure all of the teachers across Ireland will agree that these comics are so relatable! Reading these made me remember how I use to annoy my teachers during my Primary School days not that long ago.
My son's primary teacher is a tall and serious guy, and against all the odds, children just adore him. He is not in any way soft and cheerful as many primary teachers are, but somehow he is just the right person in front of the class and superhero for all of them. So i liked these comics very much - they remind me my son's teacher.
I think we can all age, Sophie is the best thing that happened to us pandas
Was missing the one that kids kind of have a mind blowing when they see teachers outside school and they realize teachers don't live inside school. Love this, very interesting. Love Sophie and the distracted kid.
Brilliant. I worked in kindegarten for half a year, and I can easily imagine some of those kids in that class once they started school :D
The children sere adorable. I'd luke their vies of the teacher too.
My math class gets subs a lot, and we make it our job to make it living hell for them, we are a very fun class to teach. I normally just sit by my friends though but some others in my class make up fake names, one time the sun call this kids name and he said he went by ‘Salsa’, then everyone called him Salsa for the rest of the day. 😬👍✌️
