Right After Selling His Pool Online This Guy Received A Hilarious Offer From Another Buyer He Couldn’t Refuse
Have you ever wanted something so bad that you could do just about anything to have it? Well, this guy decided to ‘sacrifice’ his favorite box of cereal just to get the pool table he wanted so much. Fortunately, it was exactly what the owner of the wobbly pool table wanted. Imgur user posted this story of this successful deal online and won quite a few hearts with his bargaining skills. This is wrong, to me. Seller took the first guy's offer and should honor that. If he wasn't sure he wanted to sell it for 10, should have told guy #1 that he was selling for best offer. This is just sh***y behavior by seller and guy #2.
Why is wrong? the seller owns the table. he promises it to buyer A. Buyer B was skillful in getting seller to change his mind. So, seller tells buyer A that he realizes he was going to sell the table to him, but that new information has caused him to reconsider. Given that the transaction is legal, that the table is the legal property of the seller, and that we live in world we were can do basically whatever we want with inanimate objects we own.... Explain WHY it's wrong. Why is the seller the bad guy? I was going to sell an old woman a car once. She and I talked for weeks about it. I found someone willing to pay $2K more. I asked her if she could beat the price. She said no. I said ok... I am going to let it go for $2k more. Should I have missed out on that $? Would you have? To me, it would be odd that anyone would sell to the old lady in that scenario. It is possible to promise something and rescind that promise. You might p**s the other person off, but it's not morally wrong

This drives me nuts. I get trying to make the best deal, but when you've already got a commitment to one buyer, you should honor that. I've had someone back out on a sale before when they got a better offer and I might have offered more. I also had one lady honor a sale - we got a great deal on a Traeger grill. She was offered a lot from her neighbor when he found out she was selling it, and I commend her for holding to her first promise. We even paid a little extra.

The thing about this, is that it's not going to screw anyone over and cause poverty or destroy some self esteem, it might not have been the right thing to do, but eh we're all just a bunch of humans who make mistakes anyway. I thought it was random and funny haha, as is the human race XD
We're not all angels, but most of us don't boast on the internet about our unethical behaviour. If you do that, you can reasonably expect some criticism.

Had this happen to me, I was going to buy something and the seller still sold it to someone else while I was on my way, it's exremly annoying and hate when people do that, so much trouble for nothing.
He sold his word and his honor, and he will never be able to buy that back. And all for some junk food and a few pounds.
You got to acknowledge the negotiation skills of the buyer. Damn he is good.
Sorry, but seller is simply a @## for not keeping his word to the original buyer. I hate that sort of people.

If this is for real, those guys were d***s to the other would-be buyer, and being a d**k is still being a d**k even if you have a sense of humour about it. Unfortunately the internet often rewards dickish behaviour. Nobody wants to read a mundane story about a seller telling a customer the item is already sold, then successfully concluding the agreed transaction with the first customer.

I could agree with some people that the seller should have honored the first offer after accepting it. But the effort in buyer #2's discussion was quite fun and persuasive. It's good to see someone put something into even small transactions, go after what he wants. I'm glad the seller gave it to him rather than the first person to slap money on the table.
Ridiculous. Once it's sold, it's sold. Buyers are supposed to be jesters now in order for sellers to honor their own deals?
