Millennials are choosing pets over kids for a ton of reasons, from cost (an average of $3085 a year to raise a dog, $12-14,000 for a child) to freedom, basic companionship and not having to wipe their butts.

While not everyone thinks that this is a good thing and sure, the two things are so vastly different that the comparison is a stretch. But after a busy day at a job that doesn't offer the same security or benefits that your parents grew accustomed to, what would you prefer to come home to? A little fluffy bundle of joy who just wants to play and cuddle, or a demanding child that needs to be cooked for, cleaned after, homework and so on?

Obvious, when you think about it! We here at Bored Panda have compiled a hilarious list of all the memes millennials are sharing to show they prefer animal babies to human ones, just in case you need further convincing. Scroll down to check them out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!

Wow, the image quality suggests this was a GIF converted to a TIFF, send through a 1995 phone, and converted to JPEG for coversion to a lower quality version of it.

Same. And before anyone starts blaming parents for not controlling their children, sometimes they just can't. Take my little brothers for example. When someone picks up a bad habit from school that they think is cool, then have fun getting it out of them. Time outs, groundings, and spankings don't seem to work either. I'm only a teen, (which in our current society means very little anyhow) but from what I see, parenthood is hell. I will NEVER willingly have a kid.

I actually agree with you, and I’m 33! You see something most adults aren’t mature enough to accept. The fact is that no matter how good a parent is, kids can and do still pick up bad behavior from school, tv and friends. Even when parents do everything right, it can still happen. This is because it’s kids who suck, not parents. Parents suck too, but at least they are adults. Children are miserable.

I am amazed at how people let their kids run when it is inappropriate to do so.

I have always said I would love to go to a restaurant and ask for the kidless section. I have had two kids and I would never take them to an expensive place and expect them to behave for 2 hours and annoy everyone else, while I eat my dinner. I spent many times eating at McDonalds because it was easier for them, not for me.

I've never had a crying dog destroy a special occasion dinner in a fancy restaurant.

ISO’s Sargent, no it isn’t anyone else’s problem. But I do expect people to require their kids to know when to behave and when to cut loose I don’t mind kids at all, but rude, I’ll mannered children, I do mind. I am even willing and love to hold cranky babies to help a mom, but teaching your kids manners, is their problem, when it impacts other people. Having said that, kids will be kids, and that is ok. But basic manners need to apply.

I have several lady friends that would't allow some of their friends to bring their children over.

Yes, we never had kids. And now getting ready to turn 60 next week, I actually hope that when we go on vacation this year, the cruise ship has a minimal amount of kids and babies. Teens are fine, since they go off and do their own thing, and don’t bother me. My dog, well he is like having a kid, and he is much better behaved.

You can book an all adults cruise. If you don't that's hardly anyone else's problem.

Children under six can be hard to cake care of in that they are so dependent on parents for care. However, kids over six that have started school are less dependent but that's when they start getting attitude. I'd rather have a sweet 3 year old that needs more attention, than a 10 year old that is constantly in a foul mood and thinks they know everything already. And if you get a cat or dog its like having a three year old for maybe 20 years.

We're so lucky to have the choice now! In my grandmother's time, women had children. Period.

I wouldn't mind if the human race dies out... We've been around long enough, we've messed up big time... Might as well leave

You'll change your mind when you're 25. You'll change your mind when you're 30. You'll change your mind when you're 35. You'll change your mind when your biological clock kicks in. Well I'm 41 and haven't still changed my mind, so back off!

Kids drop and break stuff and do not sit still when asked to... Dogs pick up whatever you ask them to and sit still like good Bois and gals... Choose wisely

Worse, at work I said I wanted a dog - my cleaver coworker: "You think you want a dog, but what you actually want is a BABY!". Nope, dog is a dog.
