Parents complaining about their kids, high schoolers "analyzing" political discourse, celebrities interacting with fans, or everyday folks venting about their lives; we can't keep count.

1. Profanity. The language you use on social media is often the same one you'll use when casually interacting with coworkers. A minor four-letter-word once in a while isn't a crime, but if swearing is a big part of who you are, it may affect how employers look at you.
2. Abusive content. Social media can be a great place to share opinions, but if your feed is full of arguments and rants, you may come across as an overly negative person, probably not the kind of employee companies want in their office.
3. Adult content. A snapshot on the beach is perfectly fine but posting explicit photos of yourself can have a noticeable impact on your image. The Internet is a public place. So, before posting a selfie, consider if you are OK with being seen like that in the office.

4. Illegal content. Not only could this get you fired, but it may also land you on America's Stupidest Criminals. Even worse, you could be arrested if authorities see credible evidence of certain kinds of illegal activity.

6. Negative opinions about your job, employer, boss, or professor. One comment about how you hate your job could cause future employers to wonder if you really like the work you are doing or not. And a comment about your "stupid boss" could make your next conversation about the raise you were hoping to get a lot more difficult.
7. Drug-related content. Some employers may require you to pass a drug test as a hiring condition. But chances are you won't even make it that far if you post about substances publicly.

8. Poor grammar. A comma here and there is nothing but if you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're", it's time to learn. Communication, including writing, is an important part of professional life.
9. Threats. It is not OK to threaten others, no matter the situation you're in. Wishing someone ill, whether it is a friend, family member, colleague, politician, celebrity, whatever; if you don't like someone else, social media is not the place to be hurling threats of any kind.

My gf found a lost phone once, which of course was locked, and we were sitting there wondering what to do with it when it rang and it was the owner's mother. So if you lose your phone, try phoning it, as some nice person may have found it and be trying to work out how best to return in.
That’s exactly what happened to me I found a phone at the post office and I was ready to take it up to the sheriffs department when it rang I answered it the woman freaked out I said look I’m at the post office come get it I’ll wait for you. She was there in 10 minutes crying and totally distraught seeing her life was on the phone. She offered to pay me and I said no thanks I’m just glad that you got your life back. I walked away thinking to myself I’m so glad I don’t have my life on my phone

THREE times my husband has had his lost/stolen phone returned to him!!!! How does that even happen to 1 person??? 1st time, lost it in park, 8 yr old kid found it, called the "home" # & we gave him $50 "finder's fee." He was super stoked! 2nd time, phone was stolen from hubby's job, dude sold it online to other dude, other dude buys it & finds out he can't activate it b/c it's been reported stolen. Can't even take it to store b/c he'll be arrested on site. Calls "home" to tell my husband what happened & hubby gives him $50 out of good faith. 3rd time, it gets stolen from work, we use the phone finder on my phone, track the guy down, he returns it the next day b/c he was scared we'd call the cops & he'd be deported b/c he was undocumented. Call the cops, yes, have someone deported, absolutely not. Don't roll that way.

I've foudn a phone once - unlocked, which was really new to me - and I just went through the contacts and called "Mom". Returned it to his job (he was a nurse) and felt good for myself ;-)

I've never had a phone returned and my kids have lost a very lot of them, but one time years ago my husband and I were going Christmas shopping and he had just gotten a bonus from work and the cash was in his wallet which fell out of the truck when he got gas. We got into the city when we realized it was missing and drove as fast as we could back to the gas station where the cashier said, "Some guy said you'd be looking for this." and handed us the wallet. I will forever fight to find the human who lost whatever I've found because of this one man.
I take lost phones and plug them in. Who knows how long the battery will last with ppl calling them to locate them, and the lost and found wont answer them.

I once found a lost iphone. I took out the SIM card and put it into my phone, I don't exactly remember what I did to get the phone number, I think I used a USSD code, and searched FB for that phone number instead of looking for the name. It showed me one person with that phone number (even if they set it to private). I then contacted them to return the phone. It was a young girl's phone, so I met with her mother to return it. I don't know if this method would work nowadays, but some years ago it did.
I could display a message on my lost phone from my phonecompany account and used it to say something like 'if you find my phone please contact me on this e-mailaddres' and the next day I had my phone back. Samsung has an option like that on their website too so I assume other brands might too. Just don't forget to register your phone once you've got it..
And then there are the teenagers that tell you if you dont stop calling they are going to throw it in the sewer.

Be good if driver texted last 5 ppl in messages to say she / they / he had phone so owner didn't have to worry / replace it. That's what I've done when I've found a phone. Not that I'm a saint or great Samaritan - just seems logical.
