According to this study from the journal Nature Neuroscience, “when people tell small lies, the brain becomes desensitized to the pang of guilt that dishonesty usually causes.”
The more little pro-lies we give, the less guilt we feel, and the more it snowballs into bigger lies that suddenly become way easier. "Dobby is freeee!" For health and safety reason, restaurants do not use fresh meat. They have a vendor who supplies processed meats and foods. Unless you live in a villiage of 50 people or less, because the time all by itself to slaughter, pluck, boil, skin, and cook 1 chicken is longer than a 5 minute wait in line.

It's honestly sad to see adults or even teenagers making up tall tales like that for attention. This behaviour is only normal for preschoolers and part of a child's development, but definitely not healthy and normal for anyone over the age of 10.
