27 Hilarious Times People Didn’t Realize They Were Talking To Tony Hawk (New Tweets)
Most celebrities dream about living under the radar. For example, being able to sit down at a coffee shop and not having to sign twenty-seven paper cups. You know, the little things. The song The Way I Am by Eminem paints quite the lyrical picture of the subject.
But skating legend Tony Hawk doesn't have this problem. People recognize him relatively rarely; Hawk can even have conversations with random folks he bumps into like a regular human being. The best part is that he enjoys these moments so much, he even tweets about them in a hilariously down-to-earth kind of way.

The correct response to "you've gotten older" is "It beats the alternative."
"Who are you? My son is a big fan of your work, and we used to watch videos of you when he was a kid, but I still have no idea who you are, Mr. Tony Hawk, famous pro-skateboarder."
I like that Hawk is wearing a Van's shirt, since it's a competitor with his shoe line.
I sat next to him in a plane trip to New Zealand. Very down to earth and a legend.
He's so great. Also has a wonderful video (one of many, to be fair) on Youtube about all different levels of skate tricks.
I REALLY NEEDED A LAUGH XD. THANKS!!
oops, CAPS on sorry...
I’m impressed he puts up with all this shit, he must have nerves of steel
In 1968 my parents bought me a skateboard. I never asked for one, never knew anyone who had a board, but never the less... It was metal. It had hard rubber wheels. We lived on a gravel road with the nearest safe, paved road about a mile away. I was never going to use it but I did. I had great fun riding this metal skateboard from the shallow end of our swimming pool to the deep end. Naturally, I'd float away from the board as I approached the deep end. So, yeah. I never skateboarded. But I know who Tony Hawk is. He sells pizza, no?
