Parenting is one heck of a task, but being freshly-made new parents is a whole different experience. You constantly feel like nodding off in random places, your shirt is stained with unidentified liquids, aka baby had breakfast, and quality time for yourself when raising kids is just a dream.

And who could ever illustrate such quirks and everyday problems better than the artist who has been documenting life with his wife for years? With a solid portfolio of relatable comics at hand (check it out here, here, and here,) the internet’s beloved cute couple Yehuda and Maya are back with some funny drawings on parenting. The new batch of comics, both painfully relatable and fiercely humorous, will hit very close to home.

And after you’re done, take a look at hilarious cartoons documenting how they dealt with Maya’s pregnancy and the funny problems it has caused right here.

There are little things as soothing as seeing a baby sleep. (And little thing as unsettling as seeing a baby cry.)

Bored Panda contacted Yehuda and Maya Devir to find out how their parenting journey is going. It turns out, the newly-made parents are as excited as ever! “We are experiencing a whole new range of emotions and feelings we didn't know existed,” they told us. The journey revealed new sides in their personalities that aren’t only positive ones. "We also have a lot of conflicts, but we grow from it,” the couple said.

After the baby was born, Yehuda and Maya had no option but to change their priorities: “There is no more couple, no more team at work... only Ariel.” In fact, the couple now works in shifts and is living under a new schedule. “It's a new life and we’re getting used to it. But not in a bad way. This experience is going to create a new and better us.”

Not one of my sons cried at even one of their vaccines, even as babies. At first we did some serious distractions and had the nurses do them tandem if there was more than one. As they got a bit older, we were honest with them. We told them "Yes it will hurt but not as bad as that time you (insert something they've done that hurt worse). You are strong and we are gonna be right there with you. You got this, kiddo." The usual response is "That hurt." Then they get a popsicle. Helping kids to realize how strong and brave there are can hell them to overcome their fears. Also, not projecting your own fears onto them is key.

Many, many children obtain their fears through the parents. I used to help at an elementary school the first week with the kindergartners, some of whom were in total meltdown, clinging to whoever brought them. Hardiest thing to do was to get the person who dropped them off to let us deal with the kid. You'd here them telling the little ones, I'll give you x,y&z if you quit crying and go, etc... You'd be surprised at the number of children who, as soon as we were around the bend when they can't see the person who dropped them off, instantly shuts the tear factory. Some of them, at that age, have learned to play the adults they live with.

Oh no, every single vaccine broke my heart, poor babies. But they do get over it so quickly, it's just hard because they are so small and they know nothing but love :)

I am terrified of needles so getting shots as a kid were always difficult. A few times my mom and 2 nurses would have to hold me down so I didn't jerk. One time I jerked so bad it left a huge scratch on my leg where the needle had cut.

I'm tempted to say Dad since Mom is causing pain, that is giving him a red hand and red face, but maybe Mom for her pain is more internal.

The only not-so-easy part about being a new parent is not having the time for yourself. “We never go to bed at the same time.” Due to the coronavirus, they now do a lot of digital lectures from home, and they try to balance work and family life under the same roof. “Both of us need to be present in the lecture, so it's very challenging to switch from our parenting warm personality to our business mode,” they said.

Yehuda and Maya hope that when Ariel gets older, “she will see all the work that mommy and daddy have done for her and she will appreciate it. We hope...”
