While you scroll through an eternity of your Twitter feed, it’s easy to get lost in anything from politics to societal problems, have your temperature soar and your mood drop on a day that otherwise was perfectly if not fine, then okay-ish.
So it’s no secret that on some occasions, we all benefit from more light-hearted content avoiding all the heated discussions on trending threads as if you were playing Minesweeper.
Luckily, there’s a subreddit dedicated to precisely this. Titled “NonPoliticalTwitter,” it celebrates Twitter posts that are politics-free and have some vibes instead. “Come vibe with us,” the page’s description says and 73.8k members have already signed up for it. So what do you get? A hilariously accurate selection of the best tweets for anyone from a weird sense of humor to a more pragmatic attitude towards life.

Now, This Sounds Like A Story
Teens are easy to brainwash into believing they are the chosen one. Btw the Lost Lands series of games by 5 BN games has a non teen heroine. The first game has her rescue her son.
Most games get it right. Having teen protagonist is actually weird and less common in the industry. Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher, (most of) Assassin's Creed, Crysis...
Load More Replies...I think it's because saving world involves lot of running, sleeping in the car etc. And a teenager is able to run around solving mysteries and fighting monsters and then take 2-hours of sleep in a sewer and continue next day with full stamina, whereas an average 30-y-o needs few days of mental preparation to make a phone call and if they sleep on the wrong side, they can't move for 14 days...
Moms would be better at running on 2 hours of sleep than anyone!
Load More Replies...That's because these stories are aimed a teens. 42 year old moms do not have so much time to read. :D
There are also movies (although plenty of 42-year-old moms read)
Load More Replies...I wanna see one with a badass 80-year-old man with a love of gardening as the chosen one! He doesn't entirely know what to do (nobody would, with the fate of the world in their hands like that) but after rounding up his other elderly friends they all try their best to save the world they love so that both they and future generations can live in and enjoy it.
YES! I was genuinely thinking about this recently - even by mid 30's now I feel like I've seen and experienced far more horrific s**t by now than I ever could have imagined I possibly could as a teenager. You do get to a point where that worn down aura of strength comes over you (I think especially after having to be responsible for small children / yours or not) where you're able to channel all your anger / grief from everything else into a, "f*ck it, if these people are gonna try and bring on the apocalypse I shall destroy them or die trying because I have absolutely no f**k's left to give" -(and whilst I'm at it I'll also make sure Marjorie from down the road gets a building dropped on her house because she's a bloody Twat of a neighbour )
The book/movie would be too short. "Oh how will we defeat the evil emperor without losing everything?" Mom (already walking towards the big evil castle): "We're gonna have a come-to-Jesus meeting. Now."
I’m a teen, and I agree. Stop sending us onto the front lines, fictional elders! Do it yourself! YOU aware the experienced one!
Wait yesterday I saw I book that was based off a divorced woman in her 40’s. I forget what it’s called. It’s not some huge adventure story though 😏
Never met a teen, especially male, who didn't already know everything.
This one maybe ? https://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/96-582/The-Legend-of-Mother-Sarah-City-of-the-Angels-1
There is a book like that. "Mrs. Perivale and the Blue Fire Crystal" by Dash Hoffman is about 73 year old Mrs. Perivale and her butler who is brought into a mystical fantasy land because a prophecy needs her to save them. Read it, it is really great!
This is why "yippeekiyay m*f*" is such a catchy phrase. Us older folks can relate to a balding geezer with 2 kids and a dad bod.
https://m.manganelo.com/manga-il122779 the savior with a book cafe :D
For anyone looking to read a novel where the protagonist is a retired widower, you have to read 'Insomnia' by Stephen King. This hero has to battle the forces of evil while dealing with arthritis! (All joking aside, it's a really good book!)
I've had enough of this idiotic censorship, Bored Panda. Who the f**k do you think you're protecting?
There are plenty of people with a developed prefrontal cortex that should never be chosen for anything that has to do with leadership or responsibility... Yet we keep voting them into office
Have you not seen resident evil you boomer, it's actually better with teenagers lol a
It's why I loved the Broken Earth Triology. Starts with the teenager and you see her immaturity and belief that she is somehow special.
In the final fight it wouldn’t be that they are unaware of their powers but instead are hampered by a pain from sleeping wrong and have to mind over matter the pain to do the finishing move.
Check out The summoning series from ROWEN D. OWENS ok i know it's romance fantasy books but daaaaaamn! the main characters are female adults from our world and are summonned in another dimension to save it from gross creatures. They pass a test when entering the dimension but they have an innerent stronger power than the persons living there. Battles, sword, knight, dragons, fairies; flying horses, ... What not to love ?
It's called Yonderland :) An awesome show about a fantasy land that discover the chosen one that would save them is a regular housewife\mom from our world that actually use her parenting skills to deal with the evil empire.
No Hollywood movie would invest in a 42 year mum as the chosen one I'm afraid.....
Luckilly, we have the UK for that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonderland
Load More Replies...I've literally asked my local libraries for this book -- though I want the Chosen One to be in their 80s. It's fiction after all, and imagination doesn't end in your teens.
It exists, it's called the Mrs. Perivale series. It's her, her cats and her butler who's there to make sure she takes her medicine. Not very well written but it's fun.
Load More Replies...Not sure who's the teenager in Matrix, Independence Day, Mars Attacks, Predator, Alien (and Aliens, AvP, Prometheus, ...), any disaster/epidemic movie (scientists!), ... . I guess the first two awful StarWars prequels do, and Rey might be. This just isn't a thing.
Only one of these movies is about a pre-ordained 'Chosen One". The rest are bog standard hero movies.
Load More Replies...where are the grownups initiating Friday For Future? The teenie bands in their songs are right: that's how the world should be. It's us adults with our greed, hatred and envy who are the problem.
It’s no secret that Twitter is the unofficial home of many online comedians who share those little bursts of life, whether it’s a joke or pun, an observation or opinionated post. Part of Twitter’s appeal has to do with how user-friendly the platform really is since every tweet there only takes a few sentences.
And It Worked!

"Modern problems require modern solutions"... the kids know :-)
This Is The Way
It's sort of like a Facebook status, but it's public, so the audience is different. If you want to reach an audience beyond your closest circle of followers, it's important to post things that have broader appeal. And because Twitter’s audience is so vast and diverse, you get to participate in conversations (or threads) about nearly every little thing that happens in the world.

The accuracy of this post hits me deep in my soul. I thought i was the only one that did this.
In 2017, Twitter conducted a multicountry study that showed that Twitter’s audience operates in a receptive mindset when using the platform, and the audience is also highly influential across a vast array of topic categories. The same study showed that Twitter users tend to be natural explorers compared to the general online population.
According to Cartier Stennis, a head of market insights and analytics in the US, “They are more likely to discover new things (82% vs. 71% for the online pop.); They are more open-minded (81% vs. 74%); They also like to be the first to try new things (59% vs. 41%).”

Yeah That's Weird
Yeah and getting a girlfriend that's over 300 years younger than you is just creepy.
Guess She Won
Furthermore, they found that Twitter users possess greater influence to compare with users of other platforms. The study showed that “78% of US Twitter users like to give their opinion about things they’re knowledgeable about or interested in (vs 66% US online population) and 55% of US Twitter users share things they’ve seen on Twitter with others offline (by showing them their phone screens).”

And I resent that corporations’ management are lazy and selfish enough that I feel the need to even do that.

I want to know why the "victims" in horror films or slasher films stand around screaming. It's like "Shut up and run!!!" I actually watched a show the other day where the girl sees the back sliding door open, closes it to see the reflection of the killer in the glass, and as she turns around, the sliding door starts opening while she's still holding it and starts screaming. Here's a hint, open the door, step through and run like heck! Wait to scream until you're running away!
that is very good advice i'll bear in mind next time i'm being murdered
