As long as people throw around some questionable bits of wisdom like it's no big deal, we have the unofficial karma police, aka ‘murderers by words.’ Except murder by words has nothing to with violence, weapons, or blood, which makes the act inherently peaceful, yet brutally powerful.

It’s because the fight is fueled by words, but not by any words. I mean witty, well-argued, and solid arguments that pierce straight through misinformation, fake news, and any other online BS that's so prominent these days. The targets can be anyone from Covid deniers to anti-vaxers to flat earthers and extreme right Trump supporters who support the Capitol riots or similar bursts of terror. And when the words come back, they do so with double the initial power.

Thanks to the prominent corner of Reddit known as the subreddit “Murdered By Words,” the karma evening selection of putdowns, clapbacks, and counter-arguments are in to show that everything you utter in this world can come back to you. Psst! Part 1 of the post with people who got brutally shut down is available here.

Beautifully Pointing Out How Jack Doesn’t Know Why A Vaccine Is

Beautifully Pointing Out How Jack Doesn’t Know Why A Vaccine Is

drmanejwala Report

Previously, comedy writer Ariane Sherine told Bored Panda that when it comes to witty comebacks, they can be both planned and totally spontaneous.

"I've definitely come up with comebacks that are spontaneous. For instance, I told my daughter that if she didn't behave, I'd give her inheritance to a donkey sanctuary. She said, 'You wouldn't,' and I came back, 'You bet your ass!' But though I hadn't used that comeback before, I clearly had knowledge of the pun and might have used something similar in the past."

But not every comeback is equally powerful. The ones that make us thank the lord it’s not us who received them have to be well-timed, super-fast, exceptionally witty, and totally understandable to everyone. If it’s super complicated or said at the wrong time, or worst, in the wrong place, you can get scolded with an agonizing moment of silence.

I love this chicks reply. This woman was told multiple times to stop or they WILL SHOOT HER!! Just because she was a woman and in the service does not mean she does not need to comply with the law. My niece is retired from the Marines and I would say the exact same thing if she were dumb enough to do what this woman did, thankfully my niece has common sense. It sucks she was killed but she broke into a FEDERAL BUILDING WITH SECRET SERVICE AND POLICE AND MILITARY OFFICERS!!!!

Many teachers and other essential workers have chosen their professions because they consider it a calling and a duty. It is society that decides not to pay them equitably for this work because they are not valued for their work. Meanwhile, if not for them--where would we be in this pandemic? Please note too who populates essential workers--the very people who are not valued in your society.

Actually, that logic is the same logic I use to argue for teachers getting raises. College is incredibly expensive so if you are having to pay $400 a month for your student loan bill while making $30k-40k a year then you are in financial hell. Many people who would otherwise love to be a teacher will not be because they can't afford it. Compensate teachers for the amount of money and time they put in for their college education and you will end up with teachers who really want to be there, can stay there, and aren't financially stressed. Nothing kills a good teacher faster than being paid low wages for a hard job. I am not saying you have to be stupid to be a teacher, but I am saying that you have to be willing to sacrifice a lot and the strain of that sacrifice will impact even the most dedicated professional's performance. I picked a career that makes less money because I wanted to help people, but a teacher's salary is so low it is actually financially unstable.

This one hurts my brain... if you don't trust a teacher to teach because of the pay rates you voted on (by voting assholes into political offices), who are you going to trust to do the teaching? And what would you then call them? And how much would you pay them? This is some real broke ass circular logic from the OP.

Teachers are some of the most underappreciated people on Earth. My dad is one, and he teaches 7 high school classes a day, and spends all of his free time grading, talking to other teachers, talking to students, or talking to parents. There are a few rotten ones, but many teachers are completely devoted to their jobs.

I'm a teacher in a Title I school. I workM-F from 7am to 8-10pm. I work Sunday from 10am-8-9pm. My kids are in the third grade. And yet the the majority of my students read at the k1st grade level. I work so hard because I don't want them to be another prison statistic. I work hard because they are smart and so talented. They deserve the opportunity to show the world.

Bill Newsome, I worked this long because unfortunately my students were not successful with the curriculum that was available, it moves to quickly for them and many of them were reading 3 grade levels behind. So, in response to this I created an entirely new curriculum to use during small group. If I look at my work schedule, school ends at 3:30. I eat lunch and take a break from 3:30/4. I work on the necessary things like IEP goals, growth monitoring, and prep for the next day from 4-6. But again, the way our school system functions is not working for my students. So, I take my work home with me to create new things for them. No I don't work slowly. This is my first year as a teacher and I was not content with allowing my kids to flounder. Hopefully moving forward, I can be more efficient and economical with my time, but I did what was necessary.

Oh, it isn't successful (by monetary standards) so let's not have teachers. Well, here we are sharing teaching duties with a teacher and we are crying like babies because it is too hard. And that is from Covid. Imagine we did not have teachers because they opted to be "successful" and those people have to raise these kids alone and teach everything, including subjects we know nothing of? Pay. Our. Teachers!

Not all pilot jobs pay terrilbe, it highly depends on the region and seniority. In the US, regional contractors like Skywest, Mesa and Republic generally pay lower mainstream carriers like American or Delta. As you progress though, your pay will start to increase.

Honestly after working hard on two degrees, I considered teaching for about 3 seconds total. After caluating the poor pay, constant struggle between two factions that want to control the educational narrative (that would be called "curriculum"), unions and their politics, and the basic idea that these little kids are just germ spreaders and parents are blamed for everything, it seemed more of a combative atmosphere than what I experienced in the all my time in Afghanistan. The educational system is a mess. Children are the last consideration if they make it that far down their list of objectives. Something has to give.

I am a teacher. I would love to make more money. However, there are A LOT of teachers. Local taxes would have to go way way up to pay for all the increases not to mention the higher amount in pensions, etc. The same USA people saying teachers should make more, probabaly wouldn't welcome the additional burden of the taxes. While I don't like being "underpaid" for the importance of my job, I do understand it.

Not to be a d**k, but police are far from underpaid. They get discounts everywhere, their pension accrues faster than all other government employees so they can retire 5 years earlier, they get paid just as much as professionals but most departments don't require a college education; and, there are many opportunities for overtime pay and side gigs. Cops are not underpaid. I get it, you have a risk of being shot at, but that is the career you chose and they receive extensive training for that exact situation.

That's the max, after decades of flying. You have to start out with flying for a regional airline for years before any of the major airlines will (maybe) hire you. Those jobs start out as low as $20k. So yes, it absolutely can be an underpaid profession.
