As long as people throw around some questionable bits of wisdom like it's no big deal, we have the unofficial karma police, aka ‘murderers by words.’ Except murder by words has nothing to with violence, weapons, or blood, which makes the act inherently peaceful, yet brutally powerful.
It’s because the fight is fueled by words, but not by any words. I mean witty, well-argued, and solid arguments that pierce straight through misinformation, fake news, and any other online BS that's so prominent these days. The targets can be anyone from Covid deniers to anti-vaxers to flat earthers and extreme right Trump supporters who support the Capitol riots or similar bursts of terror. And when the words come back, they do so with double the initial power.

I don't understand why people think medical doctors are any better than anyone else in this situation. As a doctor...you call 911 or emergency service in your area. It's not like I carry around a stethoscope constantly, and I sure don't have a EKG or an MRI in my pocket. My doctor's advice: well damn this looks bad, call an ambulance. I think anyone should be able to figure that out. You're actually probably way better off with a nurse. We just order tests and wait for results, a nurse actually puts hands on patients and cares for them.
I hold an MD, don't practice (on patients!), and my mom was a nurse over 40 years. Everything I learned about good patient care, I learned from.... Mom.

OMG! Thought I'd never have to explain to adults! I grew up in southern Oregon, having to explain to my grade school classmates what a "horticulturist" (my dad's occupation) was and then to add to it he was addressed as Dr. _______. With my eyes rolling, I finally just told them he was a plant doctor.
Also, a big lot of medical professionals don't even have a doctorate degree. If you did your doctorate thesis and passed the exams and whatever is required, you have EARNED that title. In germany, it isn't even a question. If you're a Doctor, you are a Doctor and people don't expect them to perform medical procedures when you hear their name and title. You politely ask "Oh, which subject?"

the term "doctorate" comes from the latin "docere" meaning "to teach". doctor originally meant teacher. the most common doctorate today is a doctorate of philosophy (phd). you, ben shapiro, and everyone claiming jill biden shouldn't go by doctor are all ignorant.

The key parts of your statement are "to me" and "for me." Except that nobody needs to give a s**t what you, or me, think or believe. If you earn a doctorate, you get to call yourself Dr., no matter the field. Been that way for many years.
