If Jack is referring to the COVID-19 vaccines he is sort of right. They do not expose the body to a weakened form of the virus. Rather the vaccine sends messenger RNA to have your cells create only the protein spikes of COVID-19. Your anti-bodies will then learn to defend against it this way

well, in Jack´s defense, we need to understand that cornavirus vaccines are not based on viral componates or inactve virus, like other vaccines. The new vaccines are designed to induce your body to have a rection very similar to what the virus would cause in case of getting it, but in a controled way; so in the moment when the virus is actually inside your in body, your imune system will be prepared and causing a reaction but not an over-reaction (which is in fact what causes all the critical complication in COVD-19). Jack, if you're reading this, you just defined a vaccine perfectly, you dumbhead.

The idea itself seems nice. Instead of facing all the troubles of producing and injecting a vaccine, you'd just need to let this weak version spread and infect everybody. Quickly, everyone gets the immunity, antivaxxers have nothing to say, the cost is zero. Some people would probably have died even from a weak version though.

Ok-think of it this- I don't think this falls under the jerk category. It falls under the ignorance category. George Washington in 1777 had his soldiers receive the smallpox vaccination before they could join his regiment. I'm calling it a vaccine but at that time it was not a shot. They literally cut your arm open with a knife-and put the pus from another patient's pustules- someone who has/had smallpox. I know some pus came from corpses. Today people whine about getting a vaccine & that pisses me off. But I digress, my point is that he figured out how to make a vaccine. He was just was Ignorant of how vaccines are created.
