Most of the world associate Canada with maple syrup, niceness, and more maple syrup. But the truth is... the country stereotypes aren't that far from the truth, actually. Just with a few extra weird details. Like, super social moose or friendly police officers. Exotic, I know. To give you a better idea about the Canadian stereotypes, Bored Panda has compiled another list of funny photos that perfectly describe the Great White North. So put on your parka, continue scrolling and enjoy.

For more Canadian memes, check out these pictures you probably couldn't take anywhere else.

Here's a fun fact about life in Canada. Canadians like to say "sorry" so much, they passed the "Apology Act" to limit its use. In the past, lawyers in court were probably able establish guilt quite easily. All they needed to do was prove someone apologized at the time of the incident and things would start going their way.

So Canadian lawmakers made it clear that an apology of any kind “means an expression of sympathy or regret” and not “an admission of fault or liability in connection with the matter to which the words or actions relate.”

Nice that they “give you one”. But you better not forget next time; they have your tag on file now. Still better than hammering you for what’s probably a one-time mistake.

This began when The Forks changed their free parking to all paid parking a few years ago. This was only for a little while, to assist people to adjusting to the change. You better believe you will get a real parking ticket if you park there now without paying!

They are still doing it up to now. They are nice specially to tourists or with non-Manitoban license plates.

The Forks is awesome :) Quirky little place in the middle of Winterpeg :) It's right near a children's museum too, so we used to take my niece there and make a day of it, shopping in the fun, unique shops, and lunch, and then the museum. Good times.

That literally NEVER happens in my city (Edmonton, AB). Hell, meter maids will ticket your car if you miss your time by a minute. I got a ticket for being 5 minutes late... because I was being a witness in court for someone who was hit by a car. Where's my karmic retribution?

Welllll, we were NOT so lucky 🤬! We stopped for a bite at a park just outside Vancouver. Looked all over for a pay station or if the spaces were numbered, NOPE! No signs no nothing and we even drove out and back to see if we missed a sign or something. Parked, had a snack under a tree and came back to a $75.00 ticket for not paying the parking fee😱 WTF??!! Wrote an explanation to the parking police along with the $75 bucks and never heard back from friendly Canada 🇨🇦 We will never spend our vacation monies there again, sorry.

In Victoria, BC we used to have "meterfairies" that run around and will toss a quarter in the parking meter if they were about to run out or had run out but we dont use the old style of meter anymore so dont think they are a thing anymore. They also left a business card on your windshield letting you know they had.

I feel like a lot more people would pay their parking ticket when given an actual reason that makes sense like this one.

I like the fact that they put what the money is for on the ticket. Too many traffic tickets are just a tax.

I'm from Winnipeg, this is because they just put in parking meters where there has been free parking for 25 years. This would never have happened by the hospitals, late by a minute, HUGE ticket!!!

So what I’m hearing is that the Canadian government pays you 1200 a month to stay home. Your rent it 500 so that leaves 700 a month for food and miscellaneous. Maybe I’m missing the part where they don’t care? You sound like and entitled white kid that is mad they’re parents dint give them more money. 1200 a month and you dare to say you hate Canada?!?! Go walk over the border and stay there... or stop being a brat and be grateful that you are financially supported by the other citizens that pay taxes to provide you a home and food.

We have moderately terrible winters in our area (below freezing and snow on the ground for a couple of months), my UPS-driver husband and another UPSer had an ongoing tough-guy contest for about 5 years to see who would finally break down and wear pants instead of shorts. After one especially brutal winter my husband gave in and switched to pants, but only after all the hair had fallen off his legs. I've always told him if you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.
