45 Funny Pictures That Perfectly Sum Up Canada
Most of the world associate Canada with maple syrup, niceness, and more maple syrup. But the truth is... the country stereotypes aren't that far from the truth, actually. Just with a few extra weird details. Like, super social moose or friendly police officers. Exotic, I know. To give you a better idea about the Canadian stereotypes, Bored Panda has compiled another list of funny photos that perfectly describe the Great White North. So put on your parka, continue scrolling and enjoy.

Here's a fun fact about life in Canada. Canadians like to say "sorry" so much, they passed the "Apology Act" to limit its use. In the past, lawyers in court were probably able establish guilt quite easily. All they needed to do was prove someone apologized at the time of the incident and things would start going their way.
The Things You See In A Northern Canadian Town
So Canadian lawmakers made it clear that an apology of any kind “means an expression of sympathy or regret” and not “an admission of fault or liability in connection with the matter to which the words or actions relate.”

This is 100% accurate. Come fall, bring on the plaid and flannel for 9 months. Let's not forget camo, it can be worn year round 😉

We have moderately terrible winters in our area (below freezing and snow on the ground for a couple of months), my UPS-driver husband and another UPSer had an ongoing tough-guy contest for about 5 years to see who would finally break down and wear pants instead of shorts. After one especially brutal winter my husband gave in and switched to pants, but only after all the hair had fallen off his legs. I've always told him if you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Decent country, decent people. Decency matters, at the end of the day.

My first job out of High School was at St Paul and over the next 5 years Iearned so very much. Seeing the hospital torn down tears a small piece of my heart out. The Daughters of Charity and the doctors and staff of St Paul Hospital will always be with me…… Just Visit Now……www.todaysfox.com
I live in Italy. Some things showed here seems coming from another planet...
come ti capisco
Non ne parliamo proprio, è un'altro mondo, non ci si capisce niente noi.
I love Italy, but Italian hospitality is nowhere close to that of Canadian.
No, that’s a reality here in Canada.
Unless you happen to be a Christian.....
Qua ti cacano in testa e voglion pure aver ragione... ps io ci son stato in Canada e devo dire che però tutte queste cose non le ho notate.
I’m in Canada and these are quite accurate, lol

I love Canada's sense of humour. I really want to visit now. Everyone seems so polite.
Choose your cities wisely, my son. A LOT of big cities have a large amount of a##holes (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal). Smaller places are much nicer. I highly recommend places in British Columbia's Okanagan area (Vernon, Kelowna) - absolutely gorgeous to visit in winter or summer! Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park is one of the most beautiful places in the world (IMO). kal_lake-5...53-png.jpg
I visit Montreal regularly and I haven’t encountered a...... yet.
Great photograph!

canada really is that nice
Take me Canada!
I love Canada, we've ridden motorcycles all the way across to Newfoundland, and up through the Northwestern side to Alaska and we've met some of the greatest people along the way. That said, we've also stayed in some oil and industry towns in the Yukon that were downright scary. No police presence for hundreds of miles and a general feeling that things could go really bad really quickly if you said or did just one thing wrong. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just pointing out that not every part of Canada is populated by the Nicest People on Earth.
I think it's like that in many countries. I've had brilliant experiences with US when I visited twice, but my colleague absolutely hates the place. Depends where you go I think.
I hate it here too.😭. Our president is a giant arrogant man baby that's made even buying food hard to do if your not making at least $18/hr
Yes, the work camp places tend to be a bit rougher because the demographic is a single young male majority.
... and this is why I don't understand why some Canadians whine about our stereotypes. I kinda love it. Geez murphy, did you watch the 2010 Winter Olympics? Our closing ceremony was one big finger-poke at ourselves! Never complain about being known as "the nice people" - it's better than the alternative...
Right... I am from USA. And can no longer handle reading our news cycle.. school shootings, mass shootings, abhorrent racism, not to mention the rich have no rules while the poor and minorities are treated like second rate to the rich white power in this hellhole of a place. Police kill at a rate of massive gang violence. And the drugs... The meth and heroin are so easily obtained kids are enthralled at a young age. Education is bleak unless your rich... And don't be sick in the USA they bankrupt you for diabetes, you'll die of cancer because the screenings are so expensive and insurance companies are saying I have to pay out of pocket 12,000. Before they even help with a dime... Its not going to end well for me my chronic disease I can't treat or my twin son's with chronic disease... I'll take Canada and all it has to offer because ya know the alternative is absolutely terrifying. ( I'd move there in a second if I was able)
Not to mention that bribing some university to get your child in lands you a stiffer sentence than raping somebody behind a dumpster. Hmmm, paying to better your children's education or forever scarring your victim by forcing them to sexually pleasure you...which one is worse???
It's amazing how different are Canada and USA, being one next to the other.
If we meet aliens someday, I want Canadians to be our ambassadors.
😂😅🤣🙋 YES!

Loved all the honesty and manners used. Canada is one place I would love to visit one day.
Message me if you ever do. I'd be pleased to give you advices from a local perspective, since you gave me so many insightful comments about Australia.
I'm supposed to be visiting Canada in a few days so I hope I can see some of these things...
i'm homesick.
I am not homesick for shovelling snow and scraping off my car, though. When we move back in a few years, it's going to be somewhere that it doesn't get that cold. Mind you, that's pretty easy. I grew up in Edmonton.
Sing it, sister! My mother lived in Grande Prairie. I was there last year when she was in the hospital...and it was -25C in April. There is NO WAY I'm ever going back there.
@Aunt Messy... darlin', it still is that damn cold. You know the saying in Edmonton... we've got winter and construction. ;)
but it's a DRY cold.... remember that one?
Gotta wonder how Canada and the U.S. evolved to have such different attitudes on so many things. Both were colonies of the Brits.
Among other things, they abolished slavery thirty years before America did.
🥰
I'm in Massachusetts, we were the first U. S. state to abolish slavery. A salve named Mumbet sued for her freedom and became Elizabeth Freeman.
I’m a firm believer that climate influences people’s spirit / mentality. Maybe that’s part of it.
Yeah. It’s hot as hell in Alabama. Don’t blame us for being pissed a lot.
i thought so too. May it be the difference in population numbers and, therefore, social tensions? I heard that people in the northern, less populated US States are nice too.
