I worked in an office that kept a typewriter around for when we needed to make corrections to signed forms and other documents. A young attorney asked me if I could show him how to turn it on, so I did. He sat down and then just looked at it—he couldn’t figure out how to put the paper in—and yet he somehow thought he was going to white-out some text to be replaced with other text? I took pity on him and did it for him in just a couple of minutes. Sometimes being old really pays off.
This really makes me feel old. I am only 30 (and feel like 23 or something) and I would still know how to use a typewriter.. Sometimes it is so weird that a younger generation doesn't know how things like this and (eg.) a rotary dial phone work. Or the link between a cassette tape and an old school pencil. I grew up in a generation where I have experienced both "old" "devices" and the new modern devices. Things change so quickly!

I have very fast typing speed, and a high rate of accuracy, and I got my start in a typing class in high school! I was literally the first class of students to use computers on my college campus. I earned a little bit of money typing up peoples papers from their hand written rough drafts.

I recently sold this model to a co-worker for $100.00. The case, 2 ribbon cassettes and the correction cassette included. I think she made a deal!
We still have an ancient IBM typewriter in our office, in case my mother needs to fill out forms, since she never learned to scan them in and fill them out on the computer. Never mind that the ribbon is broken and you can't get parts--it's still there.

Where I live Craigslist exists but isn't very popular, as most people prefer Kijiji. Kijiji is pretty normal by comparison, but there was an ad for a "male stallion" recently.
