I'm pretty sure God (if he existed) would lead us to the candidate who actually believes in Him, prays daily, and attends church as often as possible. Not the buffoon who viciously cleared a pathway to a church for a staged photo op and awkwardly held the Bible upside down like it was soaked in holy water.

The GOP has systematically underfunded and denigrated education in this country for a very long time. Teachers are barely paid a living wage and often have to supplement their classrooms with supplies they purchased themselves. When you have a party that is so anti-education, you wind up with an uneducated populace that will vote against their own best interests. Hence, you get people like the 71M that voted for Trump.

I agree that it's disheartening that so many people voted for Trump again. However, the point I was making was in response to a comment on here that said that "Americans are extremely ignorant... don't get taught history..."

Because we have continuously pitched to keep our general population relatively stupid by cutting down the access to education for the masses. This isn't a new trend, it has been going on for decades, in a sole purpose to perpetuate the political duopoly. Political discourses have been replaced with simple, single-issue dichotomy (i.e., pro-life/-choice, gun control, and such, think of it like Pepsi v. Coke, and people are made stupid enough that drinking Dr. Pepper is so original) while all social, political, and financial benefits collect only around the proximity to the political players, thus, money makes money, and the powerless continues to stay so. Consider this for a moment - 2020 election spending is over $14 billion. That's a s**t ton of money that circulate withing that small circle of the system. Can we do this better, can we do this differently? Of course we can, but that will take a whole generation. Time takes as ling as it does.
You presumably don't watch FOX news or listen to Repub pundits.

The person who wrote this post does not understand the US election system. Joe Biden has not won anything. There is not yet a ceritifed winner for the 2020 Presidential election. And there is a system in place for challenging the voting results.
Let them challenge, they won't change anything. Biden is the winner, even if it's not 'official' yet. He won fairly, and Trump and his minions repeating that there was fraud does not make it true.

It's still not accepted by too many people. Even after the dust has settled and there is no reasonable doubt left (and I don't think there is any reasonable doubt now, but a few more recounts and failed lawsuits may help) there will still be too many who believe that Biden's presidency is illegitimate. Trump and the whole Republican party are trying to sow doubt in the democratic process, and that is not a cat that will easily get back in its bag.
