Myrna Tellingheusen is the name of the internet’s most loved grandma ever. Because the grey-haired lady has been making her 137.3K followers on Twitter chuckle every day since 2015. And she's nowhere near ready to stop.
Her satirical pearls, insightful wisdom bites, and humorous puns have been perfectly capturing the stereotypes old folk face on a daily basis. From “loving the sound of a good vacuum seal” to wishing she could “offer a refreshing slice of my delicious gelatin fruit loaf to all the firefighters,” Myrna is definitely one of the most likable, yet absurdly funny virtual personas out there.
"My story is long and fascinating. However, the short version of this story is I want to make social media fun," the grandma previously told Bored Panda, so the stage is yours, Myrna. Oh, and after you're done, don't forget to check out more of Myrna's wit on our part 1 and part 2.

Bored Panda reached out to the internet’s most loved grandma Myrna to find out how her life has been so far. Myrna said that after a rewarding career as an executive assistant at Hughes Aircraft company, she decided to bring her organizational skills to her neighborhood of Vaca Muerta Estates, a retirement community just north of San Diego, California. Today, Myrna is a chair at the First Presbyterian Church, “where she also serves as a member of the Handbell Choir.”
Some of her followers want to believe the old lady behind all the life advice is real, while others think she's nothing more than a fictional character. The truth remains largely a mystery, but it’s obvious that whoever the grandma is, it doesn’t make her internet presence any less real and funny.
And you burn calories.. And.. let's be honest.. like 99% of us that have access to a leaf blower could stand to lose a bit of weight..
I just discovered using this on my driveway. 3 minutes versus one hour.
Load More Replies...A leaf blower has to be one of the most pointless inventions ever. What’s wrong with a broom?
Thank you... every time the fool across the street gets out the leaf blower for a walkway that's less than 10' long my urge to strangle grows quite strong...
Don't hate. Sweep your driveway, meditate and calm your angry thoughts.
Load More Replies...Leaf blowers are useless in windy countries anyway. Three minutes later, and your garden is covered in leaves again. Besides, its bad for the ecosystem. Those leaves + and other lawn debris will provide and shelter for the animals seeking to build nests for winter.
I think people use leaf blowers so they can have a little peace and quiet away from prople who talk too much or complain too much.As for the leaves they help the elephant ears plant to survive the winter, give people a place to play and laugh, smell so good and make cherished memories on an autum night.
Load More Replies...I get up early and read and pray before sunrise. After that I gather broom and other silent cleaning devices and do what needs to be done. Then it is noon and time for a light meal and a restful afternoon. Sadly this is the time of the noisy leafblower. A sad sack has risen at this late hour and heralds his lazy habits by flaunting a blower or some other nonsense tool
They have a right to use equipment of their choice BUT should also use commen sense and courtasy.
Load More Replies...Yeah! F.U.C.K. it. It's not as though the asterisks mean we can't work out the word, so why not have the word?
Load More Replies...leaf blowers cause rins of pollution. Both in the air and due to noise
Broom is quiter, cleaner for the air and better at making memories. Example: Mom and I talked while we swept the side walk I screamed, "Daddy, phone!"
Jane Goodall demonstrated why alpha-male-wannabees love noisy gadgets, at least those that happen to be chimpanzees: the noise attracts attention.
THIS! I get so irked when my neighbor tries to use a leaf blower on.... wait for it... PINE NEEDLES. *headdesk*
most blowers can be reversed to suck up pine needles into a back. It's still pretty ridiculous, but, that may be what they're doing?
Load More Replies...If you're at peace with being hated and awful, I suppose so... Probably annoys the F out of Shilo, too.
Load More Replies...Myrna said that she receives her inspiration and strength from the Holy Bible. “You will find no greater book that gives purpose and meaning when life sometimes seems hopeless.”
She also considers herself a student of life, since “through careful observation from my binoculars, I gauge what’s happening around my neighborhood, whether its potholes in the Cheesecake Factory parking lot, Doris throwing beer cans on my yard, or Carol substituting Cool Whip for heavy cream with Cool Whip.”
The grandma is convinced that she knows all the answers to many of society’s problems, and she’d help everyone “if people would only heed my advice.”
Myrna also confessed that she wishes she could tweet thousands of times a day, “but casseroles don't make themselves.”
When it comes to building her viral Twitter account, Myrna said that it all started when her nephew Lyle “downshifted The Twitter onto my computer to distract me from writing tersely worded letters to our newspaper's editor.” As time passed, Myrna realized that she “no longer needs to be invited to dinner parties to rearrange people’s furniture.”
“I can still provide my sage, no-nonsense advice to people who are clamoring for a sense of decorum in a stressful world.” But while grandma has a huge audience following her every tweet, she is sure to remain “true to myself in every sense of the word.”
I was thinking that just the other day. We have government quarantine facilities to get returning citizens and residents into the country but keep their rona out. I wish I could put all the gross pro-Tr*mp trolls from the NZ Herald comments section into a managed isolation facility until their bad personalities go away.
That’s too much bacon. Said no one Ever In the history of mankind
Nothing is as good as gravy and mashed potatoes. Hot, melt in your mouth goodness.
So this is the place where some politicians found their coronovirus strategy!

People, like it clearly states in the intro, it’s SATIRE. It’s not meant to be taken seriously.
Some people in the comments seem to be taking this joke account both seriously and deeply personally.
Same people who don't wear masks and are anti vaccinations!

Love it just some of the comments I see another protest on the horizon
