My Girlfriend And I Pranked IKEA By Replacing Boring Fake Stock Photos With Photos Of Ourselves
IKEA should have been prepared for this. Thank God it wasn’t.
Have you ever noticed framed stock photos in IKEA room displays? We think they’re too boring and fake as hell. That’s why my girlfriend and I have decided to replace every framed photo in IKEA Vilnius with photos of ourselves.
Firstly, we had to count the framed photos in the store. Apparently, there are more than 100 framed photos in IKEA! It was quite a task to find that many photos of ourselves. Thanks to Instagram archives, we did pretty well. Next, we headed to local print-shop to have it all printed. Finally, we chose Saturday, the most crowded day in IKEA, to accomplish our mission without getting caught.

First, we hid in the bathroom not to get noticed
Not so long after, we realized that nobody cares, so we relaxed and made ourselves at home
We put some pictures from our holiday in Denmark
Some selfies look so much more real than all those stock photos
We did not forget even the smallest pictures in the most hidden places
Still, there are so many fake photos in the background
Feeling proud to be the new face of IKEA!

There’s even a picture of us being drunk as hell in the local festival
And there is another drunk selfie
Some pictures date back few years ago when we started dating
It’s a photo of us on our vacation to Minsk, where we found a fake Eiffel tower
This one we put in kids’ room
And we even changed baby pictures to photos of ourselves
We took a selfie, printed and then framed it in IKEA. IKEACEPTION
Someday we’ll put our baby picture instead of this one
Finally, the last photo of us after spending more than 5 hours in IKEA!
Still, there are many photos left

One IKEA worker came to ask what we were doing. We just said we wanted to see how our photos would look like in a room. She believed in us and went away. That's the story :D

That's funny. I once had a friend whose mother replaced her baby picture of her wearing a pink dress with a picture of the family cat wearing the same dress. She never noticed the change until I asked her "Why is that cat wearing a dress?" She said her mother and her pull pranks on each other every once in a while to keep life interesting.
There are many people who hate this bc of ego, but they are just doing smth silly and fun! I liked it and its fun to push the boundaries smtimes at public places :)

IKEA should have expected this? Every store that sells frames uses stock photos. Is IKEA the only store you've ever been to?
You should leave a message on the back of the photos and start a website so people can share where they got it and where they are from. Also when travelling pop into ikeas on the way and do the same!

Kind of funny, but I do feel for the poor Ikea worker(s) that now needs to spend the time locating, and taking all the personal photos out of the frames. And if the pranksters took the original stock photos, having to find new ones to replace them.
We left all original photos behind our pics in frames.

Wow, how shallow and self-serving. Seems like some narcissistic morons who believe they are superior have nothing positive or productive to contribute to society. Who would want to buy a frame with someone else's photo in it anyway?! At least if I saw it, I could ask IKEA for a discount on the item since it was clearly "used". Even second hand stores that resell discarded frames makes sure any personal photos are removed. Guess these two weren't getting enough attention on social media!!! How terribly self absorbed and idiotic!
