Ah, the world of high fashion. Elitist, pretentious and ridiculously out of touch to your average person, some of the creations fashion houses come out with, presumably while enthusiastically sniffing their own farts, are just too easy to make fun of.
We here at Bored Panda have collected a fun list of memes around the world of fashion that do precisely that, because when you strip away all the glitz and glamor, following 'trends' that someone made up in a boardroom somewhere is a bit silly, isn't it?

Maybe his grandma knitted the scarf for him and she remembered him bigger than he actually is, but he still had to wear it so as not to make her sad.
The last time I was on an overseas flight, it seemed that every other man under age 40 was wearing a version of that 2005 scarf.
Rhianna was the only one who showed up properly on theme that year for the Met Ball, where the focus was on Chinese designers. That dress is by Chinese designer Guo Pei. Better than just throwing on some variation of a cheongsam dress and heels and calling it a day!
The Vancouver Art Gallery was recently exhibiting Guo Pei's work, including this dress. The attention to detail is beyond stunning! Beautiful pieces!

While I think everyone should wear what he or she wants, I find it hard to comprehend why anyone would accept a lack in functionality for a gain in style.
I think sometimes the lack in functionality is okay to gain in style (like wearing things for really fancy events where you just stand around all day) but for everyday usage most of these seem crazy

My casual clothes have been the same since jr high, T-shirt's and comfy jeans, though the fit of both of have improved over the years, and most of my shirts are funnier now
Same for me, except all my clothing is now a larger size :/

If it's purely art and not meant to be worn, why call it fashion, it's not. How about wearable art.

A lot of this is just avant garde type clothing, so of course no one is going to wear this stuff in public because it would look ridiculous. Avant Garde is used for fashion designers to express themselves, even if it looks really weird but they are artists and very talented ones at that.
I totally get the part that art plays in fashion. Some of the outfits were artfully interesting, but wearing a blowup pool is neither art nor fashion.

I just don't understand the runway fashions that you see... just why? and people clamor to be there for these shows. It is funny about the cod piece though
I think its time to advise all this "fashion" designer not to use so much LSD, just a free advise, and don't put it in the drink before the catwalk start to the public
