This Guy Keeps Trolling The Government With His Driving Licence Photos, And The Results Are Hilarious
Comedian Jono Zalay and his family have developed the awesome tradition of lightly trolling the government over the years, by presenting themselves on official photo ID’s as ‘characters.’
It all started with his dad. “He would dress up for ID photos and eventually drivers licenses, Jono told Bored Panda. “His past characters included mafia hitman, lumberjack, and civil war general where he shaved his beard into burnsides. He ended up keeping that look for like six months.”
Jono recently took to Twitter to document his latest driver’s license incarnation. “Recently moved back to California and had to do a driver’s license renewal,” he wrote. “This is my story.” Having previously sported an impressive handlebar mustache, cornrows, and a mullet Billy Ray Cyrus would be proud of, he chose to raise the bar this time by going all-out anti-authority.
Doesn’t it give him to bother with the cops though? “It’s never really been anything more than an inconvenience with these driver’s license photos,” he explained. “I’ve been pulled over by cops or extra scrutinized by the TSA, but they mostly just do a double-take and let me go on my way. Because ultimately, it’s my face, and I don’t do anything to alter that. There are as many authorities who have given me a laugh or smile than having given me a stern eye-roll.”
We all know that going to any kind of government department, the DMV especially, pretty much sucks. The queues, the sticky plastic seats, getting passed from line to line as the clerk decides to close just as you finally arrive at the photo booth… the thirst for revenge is somewhat understandable. So why not have a little fun with them as Jono has?

How is he trolling the government? If anyone, he's trolling himself for spending a ton of time and energy on idiotic photos that no one will really see.
In most states. If your photo ID picture doesn't look like you, you could be held until your identity is confirmed.

Okay, my initial reaction to seeing this post was "it's not cool to f*ck with your drivers license. It's there for a reason and you need to make sure you look like yourself." That being said, after looking at the images, you can clearly tell that it is the same guy.
I was thinking that too. I work at a place that sells alcohol and I see a lot of IDs. A lot of people give me IDs with weird hair, or piercings they no longer have. Or the other way, nicely groomed photos when they now look wild. A persons face is the important part, not hair and jewelry in the ID vs. in person.

In most European countries it is not allowed to have mouth open in the official ID cards so it is streange to see those IDs with mouth open.
And you're not allowed to smile at all. That's why my resting b***h face ruins every photo ID I have.

I object to the characterization of the DMV as "pretty much sucks". The DMVs here in Las Vegas and Henderson are friendly, efficient and reasonably quick. You're an idiot for saying moronic things like, "Everyone knows that DMVs ... ". Not everyone, moron.

They don't even let you smile for a driver's license anymore! Which sort of makes sense because anytime you are showing your ID you probably aren't happy! Like you get pulled over by a cop, or you are writing a check!
They also check it when you're getting ready to get on a flight...and sometimes those flights are to Disney World or someplace else fun. I usually smile at whoever checks mine. Maybe I'm a dork though. Well, not maybe. Definitely. :)

I do not find it very clever to put make up in a strange way just to get pictures on the documents that then do not look like anything at all. in fact I think it's a bit stupid. and useless fatigue.in fund if someone puts us at the end, it is only those who do all that effort and in the end is not even recognized as the owner of the document, perhaps.
Here is trolling the government! My complete name is made up of all first names, it is always mixed up my whole life and they even changed it to a female name in highschool. Anywho, I moved to Arizona from California and had to get a new license and so I did... Some time later, I was pulled over...the cop can't find me? Oh ok? Ask me my full name, I tell him....He later tells me, that they misprinted my drivers licenses and I need to head back to the office and get a new one.... Well its been a half dozen years later, and I never have.... Also in Arizona, your license doesn't expire till your 65....I have thirty some years to go... I am in a different state now, still using a different state license that has me as a different person... Now that is how you say....F the government lol
