You need universal healthcare in Australia, everything that lives there either has sharp teeth, too many legs and is hungry or a kangaroo will kick your face off ;)

If things like this actually granted common sense the internet would be a much happier place.

I never wanted to accept that people like these existed until I personally knew a man who wouldn’t let his wife go through chemotherapy because it went against his religion. She finally did it but it was too late. He was furious with her and didn’t talk to her until she passed away. Yes, people ARE that stupid.

Yes prayer helps. You prayed for help and God sent you someone who can heal your child. You can be a Christian and not be stupid, it's possible come on.

It ought to be illegal to put children's lives at risk because of some weird religious rules/opinions/belief. In reality, it translates into severe child abuse.

If prayer really worked, all kids would spontaneously recover from their maladies.

Some religions really believe this. What about the old saying, God helps those that help themselves? Some people really are idiots.

You really can’t rely on a Sky Guy to fix all of your problems, especially when it concerns someone medical conditions. You just can’t. God is not going to fix someone, medicine is. See, this is why I loved science so much as a kid! Maybe I should be a scientist, although I currently don’t know what I want to be...

This happened to my friend.. Her parents refused to let her take medication for the killer flu. They believed God would save her.. She died 1 week later.

The lmao would not be what the doctor says or thinks. Hopefully the thing out of their mouth is the description of the neglect this child is getting.

If her mother feel that she can't do anything, maybe praying or talking with other people or whatever could help her to feel better. And a mother feeling strongest, with hope and more balanced can indeed help the little girl. The job and obligation of the hospital staff is to cure the girl, not being stupid with clients, ill people and their families.

Did you even read the title to this picture? The doctor answers the child: "I, as a doctor could give you medication and you will cure, but your parents have decided against that because they think prayer will cure you. And I know it won't so you'll die." You probably never understood Dark Humor or Sarcasm.

I was a healthy child and was not given drugs for every little complaint. In fact I was given no drugs at all. The best gift my parents ever gave me -- I'm much better for it.

while I agree that parents should not drug their kids up for every little headache or cold or whatever... the truth is that there are things which *require* medication, and if you had any of those diseases... you would not have been, if they had chosen to refuse said medication.

Actually every pHARMaceutical drug is toxic and causes biochemical damages. None has ever CURED any disease. Chemo is a 97.9% death sentence for 5 yrs - don't believe me, look up the Journal of Clinical Oncology from 2005. MDs do the exact WRONG thing for stomach acidity issues over 99.9% of the time. Most folks have LOW stomach acid which makes digestion very bad and causes gas. Gas forces acids into the esophagus which still can't handle the weakened acids. Increase stomach acidity and digest better - heartburn etc goes away. 700,000 gall bladder surgeries in the US every year - mostly for pain and bile issues. Both of those problems are due to problems in the LIVER - not the gallbladdler, but now you have to take meds for the rest of your life because the MD has no training in biochemistry. Alzheimers and other myelin sheathing issues are being cured & improved with ketogenic diets including medium chain triglycerides - no drug helps. No need to go on, statins, SSRIs, arthritis

So, this kid is part of a really, really small minority of a religious belief group? Or she's a gross over-generalization?

If prayers helped a lot, plague wouldn't be so deadly during the mid ages when almost everyone was a believer. Next time you're sick, don't take meds or go to a doctor. Pray it away.
