um, Bradley Roon..the problem isn't the gun ownership, the problem is the EASE that someone with these mental disabilities are able to OBTAIN these weapons...if you are able to walk into a gun shop and purchase an AK-!5 (or whatever number) without first a) a licence and b) a cooling off period then of coarse these mass shootings are going to continue..l used to be a 'gun owner ' here in Oz, but l HAD to have a licence to do so and it was only because they were no longer being used and the hassle to keep the licence that l decided it was time to cancel all..the gun laws work, or at least they do here in Australia..

Uhm, in the US 200,000 women prevent getting raped by having one. 2,500,000 times per year violence and crime are prevented by legal gun owners. Taking guns away from people who don't break laws has ALWAYS increased gun crimes - in the US the highest gun crime and death places have gun control. When concealed carry is put in place - that area always sees a drop in gun crimes and deaths - AND you might be ignoring the fact that half the gun deaths in the US are suicides and suicides do NOT decrease when guns are not available. As always - it isn't the gun, it's the psycho behind it - and note - every "mass shooting" in the US has been by people on psychotropic, pharmaceutical drugs. Where 92% of those shootings were in gun "free" zones, now it's 98%...

Well here's an interesting thing to think about. If you take the US where gun control is in place, and take a population equal to Australia - their gun-controlled gun death and gun crime rate is significantly higher than you in Australia. If you take places where guns are common and allowed and equalize populations - the the areas in which guns are allowed has a bit lower crime and death rate than your ideal of Australia...

Well, first of all, you stay OUT of dangerous (ie, black) areas. That will keep you as safe as ANY Australian. Then you can get a license to carry, which further enhances your safety. Don't be afraid of America ... just avoid the obvious dangerous cities or at least their dangerous neighborhoods. BTW, the friendliest Americans live in Arizona, and you know why? Because half of them are carrying a gun, and the other half knows it.

Not true! Fake news. I live in Europe. Yes we do pay high taxes, but we get our money's worth. Yes we have a good social net work, health care, great schools, well kept cities, clean water from our faucets, roads in good shape, less train accidents, rare mass murders in school, no cowboys running around with their guns, rifles, revolvers, etc

When my life was on the line the NHS responded by saving my life and then moved me to another hospital where I was treated for the crippling injury I had sustained. When I encountered great pain resulting from the spinal injuries I was transferred to another hospital where this problem was treated. Please don't say that our health service is deficient in any way. It isn't.
