I think that that was the point of this movie (Frozen) as opposed to the others: change the way people viewed Disney movies by trying to give them strong women a working logic.
I assumed based on Cinderella's reaction to finding she was still wearing the other that the godmother left them as a gift. My question was always how they could possibly be comfortable.

Everything else transformed from rags to riches so they all turned back. The shoe was a gift and so it didn't turn back. It was never anything else.

The shoes were created by magic, not something that was transformed like the dress, the pumpkin carraige or mice-horses...
Okay, so apparently two spells were cast to Cinderella. One that made her and her clothes fancy-looking, and one that would turn them back at midnight. Point is, Cinderella was the subject of these spells, more precisely her aura. The first spell had an effect on the shoe because it was inside her aura, but the second one, having left Cinderella's aura, didn't. Why cast two permanent spells when you can cast a temporary one? Not sure, but it can be read as a statement "I'm a powerful wizard, don't f**k with me."

the shoe wasnt on her person. the rest of it was. put the pieces together.

I think in the original the shoes weren't transformed, she just found a pair like that to give to her? I'm not sure though, could just be bullcrap.
So fairy godmother put a filter on the clothes, the pumpkin, the mice and such, but Cindy was still bare foot so the slippers, those were all fairy god mother, hence why it was ok when fat foot step sister broke it, for you see, Cindy had the other slipper 😂
At least The Hunchback of Norte Dame had a nicer ending than the book...
It just occurred to me, Simba was raised by an interspecies same-sex couple and he turned out just fine.
He also dethroned an incompetent ruler who lived in incredible wealth in a castle which occupies half of the city while his soldiers brutalized the local homlesses.
