Pizza Delivery Guy Stopping For 2 Minutes Of Silence
May 4th is the National Remembrance Day in The Netherlands for those who have fallen in WWII and in later wars and acts of terrorism. At 8 PM there's a 2 minutes of silence which is widely respected. Trains and trams hold still, as everyone else does. Including this pizza delivery guy.

Caring Mailman
A week ago my dog Oliver had a stomach bug and could not eat his average food. Everyday the mailman would throw him a treat and we told him to hold off for a bit until he was feeling better. This was in our mailbox today

This is so sweet, sad that he lost his wife but I'm glad he's turning over a new leaf
Just for info - turning over a new leaf actually means start to behave in a better way and not just a new start. No criticism meant. 🤪
Load More Replies...I give my USPS guy a small monetary gift at Christmas time. He always leaves a thank you note with art that he creates. A bird of some kind sitting on or near a mailbox. This year it was a snowy owl, last year a kestrel. He is talented!
This reminds me of my dad. He was a mailman on the same route for over 20 years, and was very close with everyone. He went to weddings, funerals, and watched babies grow up.It was very cool, and hard for him when he retired. He would also come home with bin after bin of gifts every Christmas. It was so much fun when we were kids! Lol He always ended up getting a couple hundred dollars each Christmas from the people on his route along with clothes, candy, wine, and a million other things. He's been retired for a while now, but still keeps in touch with a lot of them. :)
I don’t know... BUT WHO EVER DID NEEDS TO TAKE IT RIGHT BACK OUT OF HERE!!!!
Load More Replies...I wish more people to the pride and care in their work that this gentleman obviously did.
What a beautiful handwriting... Please tell me it's a font... Pleaaaaaaaaaaaase!
we really liked our mail guy and talked to him a lot. he retired without saying anything and we were kinda bummed. on the hot days when he had to bring something to the door we always handed him a cold bottled water that we kept just for him.
I know my mailman, too, and I'll be sorry not to see his smiling face when he retires in the not too distant future.
Too bad all workers don't have this dedication and heart. I'm not talking about postal workers. No one seems to take pride in their work anymore. What ever happened to "A man is only as good as his word"? Too much false pride and not enough real pride.
I hope this man got a great retirement party! It reminds me of an off-color joke, but I won't recount that there - too much typing, and besides a lot of you have probably heard it.
Raymer???? My Grandmother's maiden name was Raymer! I've not seen it anywhere! Wow!
I wish we still had a "regular" letter carrier (as they call themselves these days) like we did the first several years after we bought our home. He was a young, friendly guy who was awesome. Our 3 little girls loved the "junk" mail we used to get from a dating service that came with a red heart sticker on the envelope. One day they asked the mailman if he could bring more "heart mail." He started mixing in a sheet of heart stickers with the mail for them, two or three times a month. It meant so much to them! We heard he was injured trying to escape a dog attack. No "permanent" carrier since then. :(
I like all my postmans - they change a lot unfortunately, as it low paid job in my country, but as I remember they was always very nice. Last was very handsome tall guy always in good mood, little overweight shy gentleman with a little crush in me, older Turkey guy with great attitude and interesting hobby, now new guy which is always asking politely about older members of the family :)

Postal workers are definitely the most under appreciated people.. them and truck drivers... without those people we wouldn't get all the things in our cities, we wouldn't get our amazon orders and we do not give them nearly enough credit. Plus just look at this post there are so many who go out of their way to show respect as well as make sure your packages are taken care of.

This reminds me of my ups guy as well as my old mail man. The UPS guy always brings my dog a treat and hes so friendly. My old mailman Donnie was the best. He was so down to earth and he knew hed be gone the next day and another carrier would take the route until donnie got back 2 days later. He told my roommate and i that the carrier who was subbing for him was a new guy. So he told us hed pay us 20 dollars if we would throw water balloo s at the guy lol. We did and donnie came through. He did say that when he went into work that there was a balloon in his mailtruck that the new guy had put there. Donnie retired and i hope he has the amazing retirement he deserves
Hermes always leave my parcels in my recycling box, luckily it's never happened on a collection day....
I am so grateful for my Amazon and Chewy delivery people, whether USPS, UPS or FedEx... I wish I wasn't always at work, so i could tell them in person!
Good people that give us service with a smile or act of kindness, they make our day, in this trying times in our world, good deed or a sense of humor go a long, long way, we need to smile and laugh, thanks to the wonderful people in daily service, blessings to all !!!
Nice to see the exceptions to what seems to be the rule (here in NJ, USA). In the condo building I rent, my disabled neighbor lives on the first floor, but everyone's mailboxes are inside the main entrance halfway between the first and second floors. She has her own entrance on the first floor (like several other disabled residents in this complex) and has gone online to tell EVERYONE (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to please leave her packages in front of her personal door, but not a week goes by that one of us (her neighbors) isn't walking her packages from the front door (sometimes they don't even bother putting them inside) to her door.
no. mine leaves my mail in my neighbors' boxes and sometimes I don't even get it. That's been happening with my netflix DVDs recently. My neighbors get them, watch them and then mail them back in and I didn't even get to see the things!
Load More Replies...I wish we could have a great relationship like this with our mail carrier, but I think we've had 3-4 in the 5 years we've lived here? Right now I think we have 2 on a rotation of some sort because just when I think I recognize the guy, it becomes someone different. And he's so fast! I often only know he's been by when the mailbox flap closes and poof! He's already at the neighbor's house!
It's amazing how many of those pics were just pulled off of Google. So many liars.
