Pizza Delivery Guy Stopping For 2 Minutes Of Silence
May 4th is the National Remembrance Day in The Netherlands for those who have fallen in WWII and in later wars and acts of terrorism. At 8 PM there's a 2 minutes of silence which is widely respected. Trains and trams hold still, as everyone else does. Including this pizza delivery guy.
A touching moment where a young man paid his respect to all those affected by war.
We have the same thing in Bulgaria, but it's on the 2nd of June at noon to remember the heroes who helped liberate us from Ottoman rule.
Its a 2 minute silence while you remember those who have fought, fallen, suffered and survived. Taking a photo can be done silently and takes less than one second. So yeah, everyone. Including the person taking the picture.

In Netherlands (as in Belgium) we are at the very edge of our time zone, so basically in summer it's daylight very late, at 10pm it's still clear outside

A few thoughts. That's very respectful of him. It's great for him that Dominoes doesn't do the 30 minutes or free thing. Also, it's still very bright out for 8pm, must have been summer. But then, he's not dressed for summer. I wonder if they have pineapple on their pizzas.

I understand what the OP is saying here but why is it a surprise that he is respectful just because of his job? He is still a good person, everybody should honour the fallen no matter what your job.
Its mainly because he is so young, plus a lot of companies give young ones hell if they dont show up on time or arrive late delivering. Unfortunately there are still some bosses who care more about making money than paying respect. There are a lot more photos of other people doing this, this particular one just happens to be here and used as an example.

This reminds me of my ups guy as well as my old mail man. The UPS guy always brings my dog a treat and hes so friendly. My old mailman Donnie was the best. He was so down to earth and he knew hed be gone the next day and another carrier would take the route until donnie got back 2 days later. He told my roommate and i that the carrier who was subbing for him was a new guy. So he told us hed pay us 20 dollars if we would throw water balloo s at the guy lol. We did and donnie came through. He did say that when he went into work that there was a balloon in his mailtruck that the new guy had put there. Donnie retired and i hope he has the amazing retirement he deserves
Hermes always leave my parcels in my recycling box, luckily it's never happened on a collection day....
I am so grateful for my Amazon and Chewy delivery people, whether USPS, UPS or FedEx... I wish I wasn't always at work, so i could tell them in person!

Nice to see the exceptions to what seems to be the rule (here in NJ, USA). In the condo building I rent, my disabled neighbor lives on the first floor, but everyone's mailboxes are inside the main entrance halfway between the first and second floors. She has her own entrance on the first floor (like several other disabled residents in this complex) and has gone online to tell EVERYONE (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to please leave her packages in front of her personal door, but not a week goes by that one of us (her neighbors) isn't walking her packages from the front door (sometimes they don't even bother putting them inside) to her door.
no. mine leaves my mail in my neighbors' boxes and sometimes I don't even get it. That's been happening with my netflix DVDs recently. My neighbors get them, watch them and then mail them back in and I didn't even get to see the things!

I wish we could have a great relationship like this with our mail carrier, but I think we've had 3-4 in the 5 years we've lived here? Right now I think we have 2 on a rotation of some sort because just when I think I recognize the guy, it becomes someone different. And he's so fast! I often only know he's been by when the mailbox flap closes and poof! He's already at the neighbor's house!
It's amazing how many of those pics were just pulled off of Google. So many liars.
