This is so true. I live in one on the most famous places in Ireland, Sligo. Right next to the burial place of the poet WB Yeats and the mountain Ben Bulben. The area where I live has many beaches popular with surfers and we get tens of thousands of tourists here every year well except this year. And every year I talk to a tourist who has been to a place near my home that I have never been to before despite the fact I have lived here for over 30 years.
I've met someone who is living 30km from one of the most famous national parks and has never been... He was studying wildlife biology to boot.

I found that when I moved to someplace new if I didn't go see "the sights" within the first 6 months I would never go see them.
You get so used to everything they seem normal. So when a tourist shows them in a new child-like wonder they can seem different.
ROFLMAO this reminds me of my first face to face date with my husband. We had met online I was in Western NY and grew up an hour from Niagara Falls so to me it was no big deal. My husband grew up in Cairo so I really couldn't understand why he wanted to go to Niagara Falls on the weekend we met face to face LOL Fast Forward 20 years and I too our then 10 year old to Niagara Falls for the first time (we live in Illinois) and I was reminded how impressive it really is.

Good to open your eyes from time to time! Ever few years 8blike to look at the travel guides for our area so I don't miss things. I like to travel but it is kind of sad all the things nearby that people miss because they think they have to travel to see anything amazing.
Alvin Juano is a 25-year-old artist that lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. He started the The Square Comics in 2014 because he wasn't doing so well in school. He needed something to distract him and lift his spiritts up, so he started doing these short, funny and dark comics.
But in real life, he can not have kids if he doesn't want to. Nobody 'tells' their son to give them a grandchild.
On a earlier interview on Bored Panda Alvin shared that he comes up with material before he goes to bed. He thinks of subjects that might be funny and writes them down, the next day he picks the ones he likes and creates the comics.

that's what I've been doing through my life so far. I've gotten away from pornography, cutting up and down my arm, listening to demonic s**t because I thought that it would make me feel better, and I'm still dealing with stuff and living in constant fear that I'll fall back down to where I was. I live in a Christian home, and thank god that my father is understanding and my mother has already been through an abusive family and plenty of s**t. I'm only thirteen and feel the pressure of the sexuality ordeal and all the lgbtq crap. I was sexually active at six and other years of my life, and have put myself through a lot to try to get out of the lie that i live. My message to all you people is to keep-
