50 Of The Most Brilliant Comebacks Ever Screenshotted, As Shared On The ‘Clever Comebacks’ Twitter Page (New Pics)
Comeback refers to a quick reply to a critical remark which basically shuts down the critic immediately. The best comebacks are always a step ahead in restoring karma, defending the accused ones, and making that snap which is entertaining to anyone who witnesses it.
And since experiencing a real-life clapback which is both fun and witty is somewhat rare, we turn to the internet, or this Twitter page, to be precise, to give ourselves a masterclass in savage comebacks.
Named “Clever Comebacks,” the page is busy sharing exactly what it promises in the title and from 75.5k followers, it seems like it’s doing a pretty good job. More masterclass comebacks from the same account can be found in our previous feature right here!

Call the fire department, thats is not a burn, thats a frikking forest fire....
Yeah, but most people know that you can wear a coat more than once, yet somehow Kate Middleton rewearing a coat was newsworthy as well.
That's the press, not her. She continues to 'recycle' her outfits (ie wear them more than once) DESPITE the press, not becuase of them.
Load More Replies...Exactly! English native speakers who're ADULTS brag about learning a second language. Like, my cousin knew 4+ languages (Telugu, English, Hindi, & Sanskrit I know, but I think he learned a couple more) at 12!
Basically just all Indians. National Lang, regional Lang and english. If it is an Indian living in a diff state then they must know 4 languages at least.
Load More Replies...I'm sorry, but tearing down a little girl who had absolutely no choice of the family she was born into is wrong in my opinion
I'm not sure I really spoke one language when I was two. I speak four languages now, plus a smattering of another 3-4 languages, but that's more of an accident of immigration, it's not much to do with intelligence.
Yeah but children's brains are actually phenomenally good at acquiring language. Show me a ninety-six year old who's learning a second language and I'll be impressed.
Her parents are not immigrants, so that reasoning does not hold true. The reason that it's not impressive is that she has language lessons (either tutor or school) which most children do not have.
I don't understand the immigrant issue? Why are people against immigrants? I understand dangerous illegals, but immigrant families seeking better opportunities to take care of their family. Welcome them with open arms I say.
The problems lie in the areas where the immigrants' cultures clash with the "settled" culture. Like, I live in Northern Germany, and the acceptance of Ukrainian immigrants is quite high compared to, say, Syrian refugees. BUT my sister and father are both teachers, and they don't get much help trying to integrate the refugee children in the existing school system: there's barely any Ukrainian-speaking helpers or teachers, there's no real financial aid to get what those children need, and there's no way to help them with the trauma they definitely have suffered. If this continues this way, in 20 years, these children and their families might have grown into a subculture with barely any connection to the "outside", instead of part of the whole, not a melting pot but a quilt. It's much easier to get used to and assimilate smaller groups of people over time than a heap of them. One can be as welcoming as possible and still not make any connection with someone without the right tools.
Load More Replies...It is very common in Quebec for immigrant children to speak at least three: English, French and their mother tongue. If the parents' mother tongues are different from each other and the little one spends a lot of time with them, that can go up to four. I assume this is also the case in many other countries which are officially bilingual.
You know what? She was two. Little more than a baby, so lay off with the snide please. A burn directed at a baby is considered clever or witty? 🙄 What does that say about those who think so? Nothing to be proud of ought to be the decent human response. Innocent kids should be out of bounds for nastiness, so downvotes all round on this one.
It wasn't directed at the child, but at the adults bragging about her
Load More Replies...Most Indians speak their regional languages and english. I could speak English fluently and also my mother tongue.
Years ago I babysat a little girl 4 years old that spoke 6 languages fluently had just moved to the US and was learning English. I have never been more impressed by anyone
No it's not. Don't lump one rather naive headline as the attitude of four nations (although GB is only three).
Which goes to show you, children can learn when they are taught as intelligent beings.
I would've been impressed like the time my sister kicked me in her sleep and made my mouth bleed if not for that comment.
After some thought, this seems as if I am criticising a small child. But, it is her parents, carers and servants that she is learning languages from that should be the target.

Abigail argues that the secret to any comeback is connection. “If you are really listening to (and connecting with) another person, you are taking them in fully, aware of who they are, the context in which you are dealing with this person,” she said.
if the shoes are long enough that takes care of social distancing
Moreover, according to the comedian, people do this assessment unconsciously. In fact, we aren't even always aware that we are always sizing up other people. “This is too often because we are so focused on ourselves.” A great comeback feels great because it was earned, Abigail argues. “It was spontaneous. The commenter was probably really listening. It was unique to that moment, set of people, situation,” she told us some time ago.
Yeah, that’s because we’re so.... I can’t be bothered to finish that sentence 🥱😴
One of the biggest challenges in saying a comeback is making sure it doesn’t sound mean. But Abigail reminds us that a comeback is not a clapback. The latter one “is generally sarcastic, but a clapback might be fun among friends.”
At the same time, the context of a situation always matters. “In working on status exercises in improv, we try to get people to see that the easiest way to raise another person's status is to lower their own. We see that in standup comedy too. Usually it works best if the comic is the butt of the joke, not the audience. (There are plenty of exceptions.)”
And also, expecting them to be happy is first of all sexist, and also dumb because how would they be happy when so many problems plague femalekind, like pink tax, groping, jerks like this guy, etc. Today in my bus some guy apparently pulled up the shirt of & touched this girl in her private parts. That girl is a 4th grader, and that guy is that age or younger! (my school goes from Nursery to 12th grade).
Haters gonna hate. Potatoes gonna potate. Karens gonna talk to a lawyer about suing an underage child. Something tells me there's more than just hairstyle why kids call that karen, karen.
While you don’t need to be too self-effacing for a good comeback, if it can lift other people up, the job is done. “When it works well and gains the speaker a laugh and cements the bond that says, we are in this together,” Abigail explained.
While comebacks can be used as an excellent communication tool, listening skills are the most important thing. “Paying attention, making accurate observations about the people in the room, and how they feel—these are the tools that will make a comeback really shine,” Abigail explained.

Frank Zappa once said when you reduce a concept to a bumper sticker mentality you are in deep s**t. Lots of snappy comebacks though.
Yeah I feel like I saw all these before. Here. On BP.

Including all the religious posts, seems you just wanted to start a thread on bulling 😂 man, this comment section was harsh! edit: why the down votes? I never said I didn't agree with it, only stated the bullying.
Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
